Nitecore HC65 UHE Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The Nitecore HC65 UHE is a rechargeable LED head torch that offers triple light sources, including a main white LED output, an auxiliary white light, and a red light output.

It features the new 8-core NiteLab UHE LED, boasting a 21% increase in luminous efficiency for brighter, more energy-efficient, and longer-lasting performance. The TruVision+ technology provides a 2.2 times higher reflective surface than the previous version, offering a soft 100° wide angle beam for excellent peripheral vision, perfect for outdoor activities like climbing, hiking, and caving.

Next to the main light is a red auxiliary LED that offers a constant red output with high/low settings and a red flashing setting, preserving night vision for wildlife observation, astronomy, and night photography. Additionally, a white auxiliary LED with a high colour rendering index (CRI ≥ 90) provides a beam resembling morning sunlight, making colours appear clearer and reducing eye strain, perfect for night reading.

Two buttons on the top of the torch control the HC65 UHE, the larger power button to turn the torch on or off and adjusting brightness levels and the smaller mode button for switching light sources. When the torch is on press the mode button to cycle through the primary white light, auxiliary white light and auxiliary red light. Long press either the power or mode button in any output to turn the torch off.

Long press the power button when the torch is off to turn the torch on in the mid output. While in the primary white light, short press the power button to cycle through the mid, high and higher outputs. To access the turbo output double press the power button, to return the the previous output short press the power button.

When the torch is off, double press the power button to turn on in the auxiliary white light. Short press the power button to cycle between the low and ultralow outputs. When the torch is off long press the mode button to access the auxiliary red light. When on, short press the power button to cycle between the red low, red high and red flashing outputs.

While in any output, double press the mode button to access the SOS output, short press the power button to cycle between the SOS and beacon. Double press the mode button again to return to the previous output.

To prevent accidental activation the HC65 UHE features a lockout mode. Press and hold both buttons for three seconds till the torch flashes three times to enter lockout mode, the torch will flash once when a button is press to indicate its status. To unlock, press and hold the buttons for two seconds till the torch turns on in the ultralow output.

Due to the high output, the HC65 UHE requires a high drain battery like the Nitecore NL1840HP (included) which is the first head torch to feature a 4000 mAh 18650 lithium-ion battery, providing 17.6% more capacity than the traditional 3400 mAh batteries. The intelligent charging system allows for a reduced charging time of 2 hours and allows for the torch to be charged and used simultaneously. To charge the HC65 UHE Reveal the port by unscrewing the USB cover on the right side of the torch and then simply plug the included cable into the charging port and the other end into a suitable USB power source. The indicators by the port will slowly flash while charging is in progress, and turn solid once charging is complete.

The rugged unibody aluminium construction provides excellent cooling performance and a sturdy unit that is also lightweight, while the newly designed head band features a curved rubber pad at the back for a comfortable fit to the head and a silicone strip on the inside of the head band to channel away sweat as well as provide a non-slip fit. Additionally the head torch sits in an near centre of gravity bracket which evenly distributes the weight of the headtorch.
