I am a torch addict and as such very picky. This Energizer is great for general applications, where 400 lumens is enough. The red LED is good, while not too bright compared to some. Simple scroll from throw to ambient beam to combined. It will not leave you speechless, but for this price, why would it.
I bought this for night riding, audax rides in particular. I already have spare 18650 batteries for my Fenix caving headtorch, which has been very reliable, so was glad to see that Fenix now have a bike light that can be mounted under my handlebar, with good run times and the option to carry charged spare batteries as well.
I bought the NITECORE EDC37 torch a few weeks ago and quite frankly love it. It is beautifully made, has several light settings, from low light to extreme lighting (8000 lumens). A digital display is very clear to read, and shows very useful information including the time left during usage.
It is a little weighty but really is a brilliant little torch.

Battery should last for hours and easy to replace even with wet or cold hands.
At the moment, I take it with me when I'm out on my mobility scooter, as the nights are drawing in.
I find these batteries long lasting when using them in the torch, they also have a good usage life with my first replacements being purchased just over 3 years later. A really good battery for my fenix torch.
