Fenix HM55R Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The Fenix HM55R is a rechargeable head torch delivering up to 1200 lumens with a 140 metre spotlight beam, plus floodlight and red light options. Compact, lightweight, and available in Black, Dark Purple, or Nebula finishes, it’s designed for both performance and style.

The spotlight provides four brightness levels, while the floodlight offers three. A central red LED delivers constant red or flashing red light, ideal for preserving night vision or for activities such as animal spotting and astronomy. A single side button controls all functions, including direct access to red light.

An intelligent downshift sensing feature automatically dims the output to 30 lumens if the headlamp is held within 60 mm of an object or clothing for more than 1.5 seconds, preventing heat damage during close use.

Power is supplied by a rechargeable 18350 1600 mAh lithium-ion battery, which charges inside the torch via the USB-C port on the back. A full charge takes around 2.5 hours, with a red/green indicator to show charging status. The battery level can also be checked at any time by pressing the switch once with the torch off.

Built from durable aluminium, the HM55R is waterproof to IP68 standards and drop-tested to 2 metres. At just 105 g (including battery and headband), it’s comfortable for extended wear, with a breathable, reflective headband for added safety.

Note: *The turbo mode is measured at total run-time including any reduced output levels due to the temperature regulation design.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix 1600 mAh 18350 lithium-ion rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% to 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
