The Fenix C7 is a high performance rechargeable torch, that offers 3000 lumens output in the turbo mode. With a magnetic base and a single large button operation, it is ideally suited to industrial and maintenance operations, but is equally useful for other tasks.

Equipped with a powerful Luminus SST70 LED and powered by one high capacity 21700 rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the Fenix C7 puts out a superb performance with a beam distance of 470 metres in turbo.

The included Fenix 21700 5000 mAh lithium-ion battery charges inside the torch via the USB-C charging port. Remove the dust cover from the USB-C port on the neck of the torch, and plug the included cable into the torch one end and the other end into a 5 V / 2 A USB power source. The LED charging indicator next to the charging port will go red to indicate charging is in progress and will turn green once charging is complete after approximately 3 hours when charging the included battery.

Five brightness levels are available in general mode, as well as strobe and SOS in flash mode. The side switch activates the torch by holding it for 0.5 seconds and then each press cycles through the modes of eco, low, mid, high and turbo. Hold the switch for 0.5 seconds again to turn the light off. The last used setting in general mode will be remembered the next time the torch is turned back on.

Flash mode is activated by holding the button for 1.2 seconds while the torch is on and a single press will cycle between strobe and SOS. Hold the button for 1.2 seconds to return to general mode, or 0.5 seconds to turn the torch off.

To prevent accidental activation when not in use the C7 has a lockout function. The electronic lockout is accessed by two quick presses of the button while the light is off and the torch will blink twice in eco to indicate it has entered lockout mode. It can be unlocked again in the same way, and if the button is pressed while in lockout the torch will blink twice to notify you of this.

A built-in battery level indicator displays the battery status for 3 seconds when the button is single pressed with the light off. It will show either a solid green, green flashing, solid red or red flashing light. A low battery voltage warning function is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level when the voltage drops below the preset level. Once it reaches eco output it will blink three times every 5 minutes to remind you to charge the 21700 battery.

Intelligent overheat protection will automatically downshift the brightness slightly if the internal temperature reaches 60°C or above in turbo mode, and once the torch has cooled it will allow the user to reselect the higher outputs.

The base of the torch is magnetic, which is useful for hands free operation when carrying out tasks such as car maintenance or in an industrial environment.

Great little torch - extremely bright at the highest setting with a good 'throw'. Be aware that the magnet is very powerful so keep away from sensitive items, bank cards etc! Delivery was prompt as always.

Illuminating

On the lowest level the light is a little green. Much better at the other illumination level. Takes a while to charge through the USB interface. The battery lasts well. Good for walking the dog at night around poorly illuminated roads.

What do I think of my Nitecore EDC27 Slim Rechargeable LED Torch. Ace!

I bought my Nitecore EDC27 Slim Rechargeable LED Torch quite a while ago. It has taken me a while to get to know what this amazing bit of kit can do! Well it's a torch! yes but's it's more than that! Yes I know it can be useful when taking the rubbish out to find the item you dropped out of the bag blah blah. Now I am a bit older & a bit more savvy, I have bought some work trousers with many pockets in them for all the things it seems you need to carry around in life. In the long pocket next to my Biro pen & propelling pencil is my torch with it's lanyard attached. So I always have it with me. I have found it useful in many ways, one of which was when I broke down in my very old car, I knew I would have to wait a long time for recovery, so I looked up on my phone what to do on my phone, while changing the light settings on my torch when I needed to find the problem. I had a Hi Vis jacket on, but i was in the middle of nowhere. So I used the flashing setting when the van got near so he could find me that bit easier. Yes it's still a torch you say, yes, another time I was walking down an alleyway on a short cut home, when out popped some unwanted people who I was unsure of, as I got near them they asked if they could use my phone, with that I selected the brightest mode, shone it in their faces to temporarily blind them & ran as fast as I could. So for me it's more than a torch. Something I hardly ever leave home without, useful when you lift drops his keys in an unlit pub car park in the rain on a very cold night.
Other stuff. I find the small screen that displays various different things invaluable. Especially if you are going out on a cold winters night, has the torch got enough of a charge, well you can check that, the slimness of it also comes in handy when in your best bib & tucker (a suit) you can easily hide it in your inside pocket. How long does it last, a long time, I have put a bit of string on a label for when I charge it, I charge it so infrequently I nearly forget which one it is, I do use it a lot! Cost, yes it's expensive, but you get what you pay for, very good quality. I really recommend it! Mister XR

They don't deliver yesterday, but . . . . .

I ordered 3 items on the afternoon of Monday, 8th April, including one that was to be custom engraved. Twelve minutes later I was informed my order had been despatched. At 10 a.m on Tuesday, 9th April my order was delivered. It took me nearly as long to extract the goods from the manufacturer's bubble packaging !
