Coast HX4 V2 Dual Colour COB LED Clip Light

The Coast HX4 clip light has been updated to a maximum output of 120 lumens white light from a COB LED and comes with an integrated pocket clip for hands free use.

As well as the main white light the HX4 also offers a secondary red light output which is useful for a range of tasks including astronomy, map reading, animal observation and night reading, as well as preserving your natural night vision.

The back of the light has an updated pocket clip which is now metal instead of plastic, with two way attachment, which is useful to attach it to clothing, a back pack strap or even on to the peak of a cap. The base of the light also features a strong magnet allowing another way for hands free use when in the garage or inspecting the car. The head can be swivelled within an 80° angle to adjust the light source to where you need it.

The HX4 is simple to use and is operated with two large push buttons on the front of the light, which provide separate operation of the white and red outputs to preserve night vision. The top button cycles through the white outputs of low, high and off, while the bottom button cycles through the red outputs of constant, flashing and off.

It is powered by two AAA alkaline batteries with a run-time of up to 3 hours, 30 minutes on the high white light setting and can throw the beam up to 15 metres.

Much needed improvements from the original

I've been using the original Hx4 for a couple of years, mounted on my molle duty vest and found it a good robust light but a bit limited with the one white and red mode, the white was often too bright and I could have done with a flashing red when at traffic incidents. This V2 is exactly what I needed, a less bright white to not dazzle people and the flashing red, on separate buttons so I can easily select the right colour. A bit bigger but fortunately still fits ok, and the new metal clip seem less likely for it to slip off. I'm only nit too sure about the magnetic mount on the bottom, which seems less useful but not an important feature for me anyway.
Easy of use and robustness are what are important for me and it wins hands down compare to olight etc. You won't regret buying one, just make sure to have a coupe of spare AAAs handy - although battery life isn't huge, it's very easy to slip in a new set of cells as opposed to having to wait to recharge.

The pen is mightier than the sword !

Sturdy construction, the Pen writes really nice, smooth nib, well crafted with a positive twist to open and retract the pen nib back into the pen, not tried the window breaker but have used the LED light and the brightest setting some how seems impossibly bright for such a small unit. This definitely lights up the path and dark alley ways, the dimest setting is fine reading and the middle setting is ok for looking in the car for dropped bits n bobs, it’s a great bit of kit.

Already have the MT1C Pro as my EDC. Not sure of the accuracy of the claimed lumen output of the MT2C Pro on high but it's certainly very bright. Probably too high for most needs, but I needed it to shine across farm fields. More of a spotlight than flood. No strobe which is a big plus in my book. Tail stands well which is useful in a power cut as on low with ceiling bounce it will adequately illuminate a fair size room. Well made, pocketable, simple to use torch.

Best torch I’ve ever owned, and so easy to use, so powerful when out in the pitch dark, yes expensive, but honestly worth the investment, lovely size too, fits nicely in your pocket as well. Highly recommend.

Amazing torch

I've had my tm28 for a number of years now and use it daily at night for walking my dog and have to say it's awesome it lasts for weeks as I don't use it on a very high brightness all the time. My dogs nearly 13 and I had the tm26 before which is also excellent. Best thing about this torch is it easily fits in ur jacket pocket

Have bought two sets of these now. Great to finally have AA batteries that put out a consistent 1.5v that I can now use with all devices that might struggle with the 1.2v put out by NiMH chemistry

Very impressive torch indeed

I bought this, specifically, because I live in an area with virtually no street lighting. I want to 'see and be seen' but also wanted a torch that would be small enough to sit in my jacket pocket without being heavy etc. The Nitecore MT1C Pro does this - and more. Firstly the beam, this is more like a searchlight than a torch, very long and powerful beam, this means any approaching traffic when walking on a narrow lane, sees the beam long before they see you. Secondly the simplicity, press the tail switch and it is on, simple as that. I have had too many (very good) torches that are undermined by having to scroll through the light settings. The MT1C Pro comes on with pull power at the first press. I also like that it will take conventional CR123A batteries (I have a box of them and tried one out and it still gives a very good 500 lumens, which is more than enough for most situations). In summary this does exactly what I wanted it to do, in exactly the way I wanted it too and, hence, I am very impressed. Finally a word about the superb service from Torch Direct, faultless service every time and my 'go to' supplier of choice.
