The Nitecore TM28 is a compact rechargeable searchlight with a maximum output of 6000 lumens using four Cree XHP35 HI LEDs, which is absolutely amazing considering its size.
There are various battery options that the TM28 can utilise. The first is high drain 18650 IMR lithium-ion batteries (which are included with the torch) that are necessary for the torch to access it's full output of 6000 lumens. It is also compatible with regular protected 18650 lithium-ion batteries and even comes with an adaptor for use with 'flat top' 18650 batteries, making it compatible with most 18650 battery brands, however it will only produce a maximum output of 4500 lumens with this battery type. The NBP68 battery pack can also be used.
An integrated OLED display automatically activates when the torch is turned on and allows the user to quickly see the lumen output, brightness level, battery status, battery voltage, approximate run-time and even the temperature of the torch. After a few seconds the display will turn off, but it can be reactivated with the OLED display button and cycled through with subsequent presses.
The TM28 features an intelligent charging circuit with status detection, that charges four 18650 IMR / 18650 lithium-ion batteries within the torch using the supplied UK mains adaptor. Simply remove the dust cover and plug the charger directly into the charging port. The OLED display will show the charging status and a 'chg.Finished' message once charging is complete.
The patented single button two-stage switch design offers easy one handed operation and will access either daily mode or search mode depending on the depth the switch is pressed down. Three special modes are also available by quickly pressing the button twice while the torch is on and then half presses will cycle between strobe, SOS and beacon.
Pressing the switch partway down from off will enter daily mode. In this mode ultra-low, low, mid, high can be cycled through and the last used brightness will be remembered when the torch is turned off.
Search mode is accessed by fully pressing the switch down from off. In this mode only high and turbo are available with a partway press to switch between them and there is no last used memory function. Alternatively turbo can be accessed by pressing the switch fully down and holding, and then once released the light will turn off.
Extra features include a lockout function to prevent accidental activation, an on board tripod socket to securely attach the TM28 to a tripod and a flat tail cap so that the torch can be stood on it's end for use as a candle.
Note: Always read the operating instructions before first use.
Lockout mode - press and hold switch for more than 1 second
Intelligent charging circuit with voltage detection charges safely and rapidly
Integrated power indicator light displays remaining battery power (patented)
Stainless steel bezel ring protects the core components from damage
Temperature regulation prevents overheating
Reflectors with PDOT incorporated

Test to ANSI/NEMA FL1 standards. The data may vary during real world use due to battery type, individual usage habits and environmental factors.
Note: *The TM28 has a thermal protection circuit that will automatically reduce the lumen output if the torch reaches 60°C, therefore this is an accumulated run-time. NEVER attempt to cool the torch by submerging it in water as this could result in irreparable water damage.

Great torch. Just a little bit fiddly to move through functions.
Bought the Nitecore TM28 after months of deliberating. Wish I'd done it sooner. Amazing product. Well worth the money. Extremely high build quality, Batteries are IMR high drain included along with a handy holster and a battery adapter for using third party batteries. Charging takes a while but so it should given the power in the cells. The controls on the torch take a little getting used to but once mastered they are well thought out and very useful. I use this for spotting wildlife as well as security purposes. The beacon could well save your life at some point in time as could the sos mode. Strobe is amazing for security and personal protection purposes. The light is everything it claims to be, any video does not do it justice. I tried to video the light pattern and it looks nothing like real life on the video. It really is so much better than you will believe from you tube videos. The TM28 fits in a coat pocket, can be locked out to prevent accidental activation and the switch is illuminated in standby mode for easy recognition. It is quite a heavy torch but gives as good a light as any rabbiting lamp I have seen at a fraction of the bulk, size and weight. I would highly recommend this torch, not the cheapest but definitely worth the money. A serious torch for serious users.
