The Nitecore NB10000 GEN2 is a lightweight and compact power bank relative to it's huge 10000 mAh capacity, and is useful for weekends away from home, or the commuter who relies on a good power source to keep their devices topped up.
Upgraded from the super popular NB10000, the GEN2 version now offers an increase in USB-C output from 18 W to 20 W, has yellow detailing around the USB ports to make them easier to locate in low lighting levels and better positioning of the power level indicator.
The body is made from carbon fibre reinforced polymer and has a hollowed frame to give the NB10000 its lightweight design, but also provide high strength and impact resistance to protect the cell. The interwoven carbon fibre sheets stabilise the cell for safe use, and the power bank has multiple safeguards such as overcurrent, short circuit, over-discharge, over charge, over voltage and thermal protection.
It is perfect for charging a range of devices such as torches, mobile phones, tablets and portable game consoles. It also features a low current charging mode which is useful for charging wearables such as wireless headphones and smart watches. External devices are easily and conveniently charged via either the 18 W standard USB-A port or the 20 W USB-C PD (power delivery) port that both have an output of up to 3 A.
To access the low current charging mode, simply hold the mode button and a white LED indicator will turn on to show low current mode has been accessed. Once you have charged your device on low current mode it is recommended to exit this mode by holding the mode button and the white light turns off.
As well as an output, the USB-C PD port is also an 18 W input for charging of the power bank itself using the included USB-A to USB-C cable. When connected to a USB power source the blue LED charging indicators will flash in turn as it charges up, and all three lights will be solid blue once the NB10000 GEN2 is fully charged.
The 3 blue indicators will also display the power status with a single press of the mode button, so you always know how much power you have left when not in use, or while being discharged. Three lights is 100%, two lights is 70%, one light is 30% and one flashing light means the battery is near depletion and requires charging.
With a IPX5 rating, the NB10000 GEN2 is ready to accompany you on your adventures with rain or shine, making it a reliable and durable power source whether you're trail running, camping or commuting. It is also airline approved with a rated capacity of less than 100 Wh, which makes it the perfect compact travel companion for charging devices on the move.
