The XTAR D40 Zoom 1600 is a professional-grade, compact dive light designed to deliver exceptional versatility and performance underwater. With an impressive 1,600 lumens output and a 700 metre beam range, it’s perfect for recreational and technical divers as well as underwater photographers. Waterproof to 100 metres, it’s built to perform in demanding dive environments.

Featuring a continuously adjustable zoom from a tight 4° spotlight to a wide 77° flood beam, the D40 Zoom lets you easily switch between pinpoint focus and wide-area illumination by twisting the bezel. Its compact head design minimises front-heaviness when mounted on a camera tray system, offering improved balance and control underwater.

With three lighting modes, High, Mid, and Strobe, the D40 Zoom adapts to any dive condition. High mode provides maximum brightness for low visibility, Mid mode extends runtime for longer dives, and Strobe mode serves as a signal or deterrent in emergencies. Operation is simple with a single press button to cycle through modes, and a long press activates Strobe. A mechanical lock prevents accidental activation during transport or storage.

Powered by an included 21700 5000 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the D40 Zoom charges via USB-A to USB-C cable which plugs directly into the battery itself. Intelligent temperature control monitors the LED directly, preventing overheating and extending both lifespan and performance.

Compact, powerful and expertly engineered, the XTAR D40 Zoom 1600 is the ultimate all-in-one lighting solution for serious divers and underwater explorers.

Already have the MT1C Pro as my EDC. Not sure of the accuracy of the claimed lumen output of the MT2C Pro on high but it's certainly very bright. Probably too high for most needs, but I needed it to shine across farm fields. More of a spotlight than flood. No strobe which is a big plus in my book. Tail stands well which is useful in a power cut as on low with ceiling bounce it will adequately illuminate a fair size room. Well made, pocketable, simple to use torch.

Fantastic torch

Best torch I’ve ever owned, and so easy to use, so powerful when out in the pitch dark, yes expensive, but honestly worth the investment, lovely size too, fits nicely in your pocket as well. Highly recommend.

Amazing torch

I've had my tm28 for a number of years now and use it daily at night for walking my dog and have to say it's awesome it lasts for weeks as I don't use it on a very high brightness all the time. My dogs nearly 13 and I had the tm26 before which is also excellent. Best thing about this torch is it easily fits in ur jacket pocket

Have bought two sets of these now. Great to finally have AA batteries that put out a consistent 1.5v that I can now use with all devices that might struggle with the 1.2v put out by NiMH chemistry

Coast G20 LED Torch
Much needed improvements from the original

I've been using the original Hx4 for a couple of years, mounted on my molle duty vest and found it a good robust light but a bit limited with the one white and red mode, the white was often too bright and I could have done with a flashing red when at traffic incidents. This V2 is exactly what I needed, a less bright white to not dazzle people and the flashing red, on separate buttons so I can easily select the right colour. A bit bigger but fortunately still fits ok, and the new metal clip seem less likely for it to slip off. I'm only nit too sure about the magnetic mount on the bottom, which seems less useful but not an important feature for me anyway.
Easy of use and robustness are what are important for me and it wins hands down compare to olight etc. You won't regret buying one, just make sure to have a coupe of spare AAAs handy - although battery life isn't huge, it's very easy to slip in a new set of cells as opposed to having to wait to recharge.

Very impressive torch indeed

I bought this, specifically, because I live in an area with virtually no street lighting. I want to 'see and be seen' but also wanted a torch that would be small enough to sit in my jacket pocket without being heavy etc. The Nitecore MT1C Pro does this - and more. Firstly the beam, this is more like a searchlight than a torch, very long and powerful beam, this means any approaching traffic when walking on a narrow lane, sees the beam long before they see you. Secondly the simplicity, press the tail switch and it is on, simple as that. I have had too many (very good) torches that are undermined by having to scroll through the light settings. The MT1C Pro comes on with pull power at the first press. I also like that it will take conventional CR123A batteries (I have a box of them and tried one out and it still gives a very good 500 lumens, which is more than enough for most situations). In summary this does exactly what I wanted it to do, in exactly the way I wanted it too and, hence, I am very impressed. Finally a word about the superb service from Torch Direct, faultless service every time and my 'go to' supplier of choice.
