Xtar D30 4000 LED Diving Torch Kit (White/Red/Blue/UV)

The Xtar D30 4000 is a versatile dive torch, perfect for underwater photography and videography, that provides an excellent white output as well as a secondary red, blue and UV output from the multicoloured LEDs.

The primary white Cree XHP70.2 LED provides three available brightness levels, reaching a maximum output of 4000 lumens. Additionally, there are six XPE2 LEDs consisting of three red and three blue LEDs as well as two UV TX3535P3 LEDs. These white and auxiliary lights can function both independently and in combination, offering a versatile range of up to 15 possible combinations. This feature enhances marine life or coral reefs, depending on the subject, as different combinations can better illuminate details or colours.

Colour rendering index (CRI) is a measurement of a light sources ability to faithfully reveal the true colour of an object in comparison to a natural light source such as sunlight and is measured between 0-100. The D30 1600 main white LED has a high CRI 95+ value, which means the quality of the light source is extremely good and shows colours in their true form and also helps reduce eye strain that lower CRI lights can cause.

The D30 4000 has two independent switches to control the separate white light and auxiliary light outputs. The magnetic push switch on the neck of the torch accesses the white light. To cycle through the high, medium and low outputs simply push the button, with the final push turning the white light off. To access the auxiliary light use the magnetic rotary switch on the tail of the torch. Turn anticlockwise to cycle through the red, blue and UV outputs. The white light and auxiliary lights can be used independently or combined. To combine simply turn each light on in the output desired.

To prevent accidental activation when not in use, the torch can be placed in the lockout mode by holding the push button down for 3 seconds while the torch is off. The light will flash three times to indicate lockout mode and the torch will no longer turn on in any output. Exiting the lockout mode is as simple as pressing and holding the push button once more for three seconds.

The D30 4000 is powered by four 18650 lithium-ion batteries (included) which can be easily recharged in the provided external MC4S battery charger. The LED power indicator just above the push switch lets you know the battery level. The indicator displays three lights when the battery is above 66%, two lights when it's between 66% and 33%, and a single light when it's in the 33% to 5% range. When the battery drops below 5%, a blinking light indicates the battery needs recharging as soon as possible to prevent damage from low voltage.
