The Core Lighting CLH200 rechargeable head torch offers a maximum output of 200 lumens with a beam range of 55 metres distance from a 3 W cree LED.

The left hand power button operates the torch normally and each press will cycle through high, mid, low and off, while holding the button down in any state will access the SOS mode.

There is also a sensor control switch so that the torch can be turned on and off by waving your hand in front of the torch (within 15 cm range), which is perfect for when you're carrying out tasks where your hands may be dirty so you don't want to touch the torch. To operate the torch with sensor control you can activate it by pressing the right button either while the light is on in any mode to use a particular setting, or if pressed from off it will only access the high output. Pressing either button will turn the sensor mode off.

Powered by a built in 1200 mAh lithium polymer rechargeable battery, the CLH200 has a run-time of 5 hours. Recharging the unit is easy, simply insert the micro USB cable into the underside of the head torch (with the torch turned off) and the other end into a USB power source. To show charging is in progress a red LED will illuminate and turn green to show charging is complete after approximately 4 hours.

The high visibility yellow buttons means that they are easier to be seen, which is useful when working in an industrial environment. The fully adjustable nylon headband is comfortable on the head and a hinged bracket allows the head torch to be adjusted downwards within a 45° angle so you can direct the light source where you need it most.

Very pleasantly surprised

I bought these after reading a review of them.
For the price I genuinely believe I had nothing to lose if they weren't all that good.
Well, they are fabulous for the price, are comfortable and I've not ran out of charge during the day. I do switch it off when I don't need it and that will clearly make a huge difference to battery life.
As far as lighting goes, is it bright? Yes.
3 modes of light intensity.
Does the auto function work? Yes, and No.
If you're working close to something it can see that as a cue to turn off, or on as if it's your arm waving past.
However, for non close activity such as walking.
I don't have any criticism of the light itself because of it's low price, however, if it were a little bit more expensive then I'd probably want a wider spread of the light output horizontally , and possibly up and down vertically, but that's not to detract anything from this light at all. I personally feel that for the money these are excellent value and I hope they have the longevity to match their quality and power of light.

Good sturdy head light

Stayed in place on my head and gives a very good light. The on-off hand operation turned out to be a bit sensitive to any movement while fitting a car battery so didn't use this facility. Probably ok if not working with hands close to the sensor.
