The Nitecore UT27 800 is a lightweight, dual power LED head torch designed for trail and long-distance runners. Delivering up to 800 lumens, it features triple light sources — a cool white beam for long-range visibility, a warm white beam for fog or rain, and an auxiliary red light that helps preserve night vision and is ideal for wildlife observation, astronomy, and night photography.

The dual-lens optical system produces a uniform TrueVision+ floodlight with both cool (6500 K) and warm (3000 K) outputs, providing a clear, balanced field of view in all conditions.

Powered by Nitecore’s USB-C rechargeable 1500 mAh Li-ion battery pack or 3 × AAA batteries, the UT27 800 offers excellent flexibility for extended use. The glow-in-the-dark battery compartment makes swaps easy at night, while the battery pack recharges in around 1.5 hours via USB-C.

Built-in LED battery indicators display remaining power at a glance, and ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation) technology maintains stable brightness and efficiency during longer runs.

Built for endurance, the UT27 800 features IP66 water resistance, a tough, lightweight body, and a 90° adjustable bracket for directional lighting. The reflective, non-slip headband enhances comfort and visibility, while the included soft carry sack doubles as a light diffuser or storage pouch.

Note: The outputs are measured in total of runtime, including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanisms in the design, causing the brightness level to drop down if the torch becomes too warm.

Tested to ANSI/PLATO FL 1-2019 standards using the included HLB1500 lithium-ion battery pack in laboratory conditions. The data may vary slightly in real world use depending on battery type, individual usage habits and environmental factors.

Finally - 1.5v rechargeable AA battery!

Have bought two sets of these now. Great to finally have AA batteries that put out a consistent 1.5v that I can now use with all devices that might struggle with the 1.2v put out by NiMH chemistry

Much needed improvements from the original

I've been using the original Hx4 for a couple of years, mounted on my molle duty vest and found it a good robust light but a bit limited with the one white and red mode, the white was often too bright and I could have done with a flashing red when at traffic incidents. This V2 is exactly what I needed, a less bright white to not dazzle people and the flashing red, on separate buttons so I can easily select the right colour. A bit bigger but fortunately still fits ok, and the new metal clip seem less likely for it to slip off. I'm only nit too sure about the magnetic mount on the bottom, which seems less useful but not an important feature for me anyway.
Easy of use and robustness are what are important for me and it wins hands down compare to olight etc. You won't regret buying one, just make sure to have a coupe of spare AAAs handy - although battery life isn't huge, it's very easy to slip in a new set of cells as opposed to having to wait to recharge.

Very impressive torch indeed

I bought this, specifically, because I live in an area with virtually no street lighting. I want to 'see and be seen' but also wanted a torch that would be small enough to sit in my jacket pocket without being heavy etc. The Nitecore MT1C Pro does this - and more. Firstly the beam, this is more like a searchlight than a torch, very long and powerful beam, this means any approaching traffic when walking on a narrow lane, sees the beam long before they see you. Secondly the simplicity, press the tail switch and it is on, simple as that. I have had too many (very good) torches that are undermined by having to scroll through the light settings. The MT1C Pro comes on with pull power at the first press. I also like that it will take conventional CR123A batteries (I have a box of them and tried one out and it still gives a very good 500 lumens, which is more than enough for most situations). In summary this does exactly what I wanted it to do, in exactly the way I wanted it too and, hence, I am very impressed. Finally a word about the superb service from Torch Direct, faultless service every time and my 'go to' supplier of choice.

Great performance from a great price

I am a torch addict and as such very picky. This Energizer is great for general applications, where 400 lumens is enough. The red LED is good, while not too bright compared to some. Simple scroll from throw to ambient beam to combined. It will not leave you speechless, but for this price, why would it.

Great bike light

I bought this for night riding, audax rides in particular. I already have spare 18650 batteries for my Fenix caving headtorch, which has been very reliable, so was glad to see that Fenix now have a bike light that can be mounted under my handlebar, with good run times and the option to carry charged spare batteries as well.

One of the best

I bought the NITECORE EDC37 torch a few weeks ago and quite frankly love it. It is beautifully made, has several light settings, from low light to extreme lighting (8000 lumens). A digital display is very clear to read, and shows very useful information including the time left during usage.
It is a little weighty but really is a brilliant little torch.
The service from TORCHDIRECT was excellent too. Good communications and arrived well packaged and on time
