Fenix WF30RE 2025 ATEX Intrinsically Safe LED Torch

The Fenix WF30RE is an intrinsically safe rechargeable torch designed for use in hazardous locations (excluding underground mines).

It has been independently tested and certified to IECEx, ATEX and GRGT standards, allowing it to be safely used in Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments where class IIA, IIB and IIC explosive gas mixtures may be present. It is also suitable for combustible dust areas in Zone 21 and Zone 22, making it ideal for petroleum, chemical, textile, metallurgical, fire control, power station and paper production industries.

Equipped with a Cree XP-G3 LED, the WF30RE delivers a maximum output of 300 lumens and offers Low, Mid and High brightness levels, as well as Eco and SOS modes. The light is operated via the side switch and features mode memory for the regular outputs, excluding Extreme modes.

Constructed from durable high-strength A6061-T6 aluminium, the WF30RE is rated to IP68 standards, meaning it is fully dustproof and can be submerged in water up to 2 metres. It is powered by the included Fenix ARB-L21-3000Ex rechargeable lithium-ion battery, specifically designed and certified for ATEX use with this model. The battery has passed explosion-proof and temperature resistance testing to ensure safe and reliable operation in extreme conditions, and no other battery type should be used.

The battery can be charged inside the torch via the USB-C charging port using the included adapter, which is designed with a specialised protector block to maintain the intrinsically safe circuit and provide additional protection. The secure battery compartment can only be accessed with an 8 mm Allen wrench, ensuring the battery remains properly fitted and protected at all times. For safety reasons, never charge the torch in a hazardous location and always replace the dust cover after charging to maintain full protection.

The battery level indicator displays a solid green light when charge is between 100% and 85%, flashing green between 85% and 50%, solid red between 50% and 25%, and flashing red between 25% and 1%. A low voltage warning system automatically downshifts to a lower brightness level when voltage drops below the preset threshold, and once on Low output, the indicator flashes red to remind users to recharge or replace the battery promptly.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix ARB-L21-3000Ex rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50%-80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
