Fenix LR35R Rechargeable LED Searchlight

The Fenix LR35R is a high performance rechargeable searchlight that delivers a maximum output of 10000 lumens and a beam range of 500 from 6 x Luminus SST-40 LEDs. It has a wide beam angle of 90° to easily light up the area around you to aid in searching large areas and increase efficiency.

The LR35R is powered by two included ARB-L21-4000P 21700 4000 mAh cold resistant lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, which have a high discontinuous discharge current of 10 A in order to access the high output of the torch. The batteries are charged inside the torch via the USB Type-C charging port, which is located on the neck of the torch. Lift the dust cover and plug in the USB Type-C cable at one end and plug the standard USB end into a USB port or a USB adaptor (5 V 3 A recommended for fastest charging).

The charging indicator light on the switch will go red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete after approximately 3 hours, 30 minutes if the power supply is sufficient enough to support the 3 A output, otherwise the charging time will be longer when using a lower output USB adaptor.

The side switch activates the torch by holding it for 0.5 seconds and then each press cycles through the modes of eco, low, mid, high and turbo. Hold the switch for 0.5 seconds again to turn the light off. The last used brightness output will be remembered next time the torch is turned on. Strobe is activated by holding the button for 1.2 seconds and a single press will exit strobe.

To prevent accidental activation the LR35R has a switch that sits at the same level as the surrounding metal ring to minimise it being pressed and the torch also features an electronic lockout function. The lockout is accessed by two quick presses of the button while the light is off and the torch will blink twice to indicate it has entered lock-out mode.

A built-in battery level indicator displays the battery status for 3 seconds when the button is single pressed with the light off. It will show either a solid green, green flashing, solid red or red flashing light. A low battery voltage warning function is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level when the voltage drops below the preset level. Once it reaches low output it will blink red to remind you to charge the batteries.

A lanyard and holster are included to provide easy carry and transport of the torch, and the fixed pocket clip allows for easy attachment to a belt, pocket or backpack.

Please note:
To avoid overheating the torch has two types of inbuilt protection. The temperature protection will lower the output of the torch if the temperature reaches 65°C or above when using turbo, high and mid modes. Once the torch has cooled below 65° the brightness can be reset to the higher outputs. Please see images for a run-time graph.

Quite simply a silly amount of light. I’ve had Fenix before so the quality is taken for granted. The sheer amount of light for such a small torch defies physics. Yes it’s pricey but you’ll not regret it

Just WOW!!!

I generally have always bought Ledlenser torches which I mainly use for my 5:15am dog walk everyday. I fancied a mega-bright torch and thought I would treat myself. 200 on a torch is pretty expensive seeing as it is just for a dog walk but i though I would give it a go.Pretty much the lowest setting on the Fenix is the same as the high power setting on the M7 Ledlenser. Which is still a great torch.The Fenix is a great tool, comfy to hold, great strap and lightweight for the power. The ONLY downside for me is the sheath, you cannot open it with one hand and it is almost impossible to do with gloves on as there is a Velcro strap which fastens around the torch. Other sheaths feature an over the top flap which can be done with one hand without having to look at it. I carry my torch on the bottom strap of an over the shoulder bag so effectively it is behind me. I cannot open this sheath as easily. This is my only gripe, if Fenix decide to change this, please send me an updated version. Then we have reached perfection. In the meantime I think I will modify this one myself to have an over the top strap. Torch though, incredible!!!!!

Benny cannot hide....

Absolutely fantastic torch. Used for finding a black horse (Benny)in a large field at night time.... does that very nicely, his strategy of having his back to us and against the hedge no longer works. Good form factor which is easy to grip, even with smaller hands. Cycling through brightness levels is straightforward and the longer push for on/off keeps things simple. Looks and feels well made, I'm very happy with it.

The only area light you will ever need

I cannot speak highly enough of the Nitecore NWL20. One of the key features that places this above many others in the field is the replaceable battery. This means for example, that I now carry a spare battery in a battery case which increases the time the light will work up to around 16 hours. It was this particular feature that led me to buy 2. I have found the NWL rugged and reliable, with no indication that will change any time soon. A number if its positive features are shared by other area lights (the magnetic base, carabiner clip on handle, fully adjustable etc), but principally the ability to extend run time pays dividends and sets the NWL20 above the competition. Service from Torch Direct was, of course and as always, faultless.

A slim and well made torch

The Olight i13 Plus penlight was a spur-of-the-moment purchase, seen when viewing the latest arrivals. It is a very well made torch, interesting to use - press the “on” button until it clicks and the light is dim. Press the button twice in rapid succession and the light is very bright, ensure that you have pressed until the click is heard. This way of turning on the light takes a bit of practice but is effective. The body of the torch is slender - it takes 2 AAA batteries - and has an attractive design over the body length, rather than a standard knurled finish. Mine has my initials laser etched into it. This is a useful torch for clipping inside a pocket.

Simple and effective.

The best torch is the one you have with you when you need it. This is my second Mini-AAA (the first lives in the car). This torch is so light you can forget you are carrying it until it's needed. The switch mechanism is a simple twist, beam range is amazing, run time excellent. No multi-mode nonsense either.

Brightness is amazing! And battery life is really impressive.
Having to remove the battery and charge the physical battery is odd, but it isn’t an issue. Very easy to do.

Decent Weight to performance.

For the size and weight, this headlight delivers with very well-thought-out modes. I have the extra battery pack for back up, but on the whole I use the Headlamp as is. The second light setting I use the most and it lasts a good long time. The red is easy to use on the buttons, perfect for camping. The best yet for me, and I have plenty.

Great torch for professional use

I knew that having a good torch was essential to my job but I didn't want to spend loads of money. This torch packs a punch and has a very handy clip that keeps it safe in my pocket when I'm leaning over railings and climbing ladders. The powerful beam helps me to identify leaks and other issues that an inferior torch wouldn't show up. I'm happy with the battery life. Despite working an 8-10 hour day, I only use the torch for a a couple of hours total
