Weighing only 18 grams with the battery fitted, the slimline A8R LED torch will provide you with 12 lumens of light for up to 60 minutes with the included rechargeable lithium polymer battery.

The battery for the A8R is charged in-situ, simply by sliding the torch into the charging cap. The light will glow red while charging and will change to green once charging is complete.

This handy penlight can be charged in many situations including at work via the computer USB port, at home with the UK mains plug, on the go with the car adaptor and even whilst abroad using the supplied EU plug adaptor.

Outstanding service

10 months ago purchased an Olight torch for my daughter who is a Staff nurse, when it stopped working. Contacted Torch Direct who stated was now obsolete but gave full original purchase price in form of voucher with 12 month validation. Ordered Coast A8 as alternative, amazed at how light it is even with polymer battery in it. Daughter is happy & with her name engraved on it won't get "lost" when it is "borrowed" by various doctors who enter her ward for daily doctors' round !! A thoroughly refreshing company to deal with who retain "old fashioned" service, a rare commodity these days.

Great product and service

I'm very happy with this device. Initially I thought the slider mechanism felt a bit flimsy, but I have now worked through my stock of old batteries and everything works well. A bonus for me is that it will also test button cells, which my previous tested did not. Overall, a good piece of kit at a good price.

Amazing little torch

Even through I’d check the dimensions the torch was much smaller than I expected when it arrived. It feels great in hand, very robust and machined to a high standard. Various modes to choose from and when on high it is amazing how much light this tiny torch produces. Run time seems fine so far also. If in doubt, buy it and you won’t regret. As a side note, Torch Direct…. Quick and efficient service. Full marks :)

Main torch head and flexible have focusing collars.
The tiny LED head is like a fibre optic head i had for a maglite. Great for inspection inside small spaces. Very useful multifunction set.
