Nitecore TM9K TAC Rechargeable LED Torch

The Nitecore TM9K TAC is a compact rechargeable searchlight that upgrades the TM9K, now offering a maximum brightness of 9800 lumens momentary output from 9 updated Cree XP-L2 HD LEDs.

Due to the heat created from such a high output torch, the TM9K TAC has a lightweight and rigid CNC machined unibody design made from aluminium alloy to provide superior heat dissipation capabilities.

A 5000 mAh 21700 lithium-ion battery is built-in to the TM9K TAC and is charged up via the USB-C charging port that is on the head of the torch. Remove the dust cover from the charging port and insert the USB-C end of the included cable into the charging port, then pluf the standard USB-A end into a USB power source.

Thanks to the Quick Charge charging circuit the TM9K TAC is capable of charging the battery in approximately 3 hours, 15 minutes when using a Quick Charging USB adaptor. The torch will automatically access the Quick Charge mode when connected to a quick charge adaptor and the power indicator will flash quickly to show charging in progress. If using a 5 V, 2 A adaptor the power indicator will flash slowly and a full charge will take approximately 5 hours in regular charging mode. Once charging is complete the indicator will be solid blue.

Five brightness levels as well as strobe are available and are operated with the dual tail buttons. The light is turned on and off with the circular tail cap button, which can also be half pressed to provide momentary illumination until it is released. Once turned on single press the mode button (turbo ready lever) to cycle ultra-low, low, mid, high and the setting will be remembered next time the torch is turned on. Momentary turbo is accessed by holding down the mode button with the light on or off, and once released the light will return to the previous setting.

The strobe can be accessed with the torch on or off by double pressing the mode button, and a single press will exit. Strobe will be remembered next time the torch is turned on if it is the last used mode.

The torch can be locked out to prevent accidental activation by clicking the circular button while holding down the mode button, and releasing both buttons. To exit the lockout mode triple press the mode button. The thermal protection will automatically lower the output when used in turbo or high for prolonged periods to prevent overheating.

Extra features include a battery power indicator that displays voltage when the torch enters lockout mode, and shows the power level while turned on.

I call it the light house

So I work as a Police Officer and I wanted a torch that was actually useful. I did my usual youtube research and come across the TM9K. The reviews said it was a tiny torch, it didn't look like it but I took a chance and bought it from these guys. Can't fault the customer service it was excellent, it arrived earlier than expected, and the engraving is definitely a service worth having, especially if you're a bit of a kit junkie. Torch itself is DECEPTIVELY small, but it got some weight to it you can tell its no piece of junk, and the build quality is solid. The three main settings low mid and high, are all good for the applications they're meant for. The high setting is great for lighting things up. However, the "turbo" button where you let loose all 9800 Lumens out at the same time, is where this thing gets the nickname "Lighthouse". Because you hit this button and anything that gets caught in it is getting lit up like a Christmas tree....only lasts 15 seconds before it cuts out, and you have to cycle again, but this thing gets really hot, So I can handle that.Overall, would definitely buy another one, if a more powerful version comes out!

I'm very impressed with my new MH 25 V2 torch.

I'm very impressed with my new MH 25 V2 torch. My main use is as a hunting torch on a full-bore rifle. The beam is really powerful and lights as far as I can shoot. I like that you can cycle up through the brightness allowing you to gradually build up the light which can help avoid spooking your target. I use it with the new WM-O2 weapon mount which, with the 40mm torch head is small enough when mounted on my rifle to be below my moderator and does not affect zero. The whole assembly of the torch and mount comfortably fits in my pocket. The battery life is great and being able to use backup batteries is useful if you can't get a recharge. When I'm not hunting it is still a very useful torch for all situations, a must to pack item when I go on holiday. I hope I never need the strobe, beacon, or SOS modes but it's reassuring to know they are included if needed in an emergency. My only disappointment is that I forgot to add the free laser engraving of my name or initials that TorchDirect offers.

Perfect driving torch

For the last 25 years I have been a professional driver mainly HGV and I think this is the perfect work torch for a driver. I always carry about 4 torches in my bag 2 main, 1 head, 1 hand and 2 backups. My main hand torch for years has been the olight seeker pro 2 [fantastic bit of kit], this is going to replace it purely because of it's versatility as a tool, If I had realised traffic wands were this good id have had one years ago, great for doubling up as a lantern, four colours and plenty of modes. I have been really impressed by this torch especially now the price has dropped they are a real bargain for the amount of roles they can carry out, I might yet get a second one for in the car. Would recommend to anyone.

A bright spot in my day

MagLite are pretty much the gold standard of torches, and the AA Mini-MagLite is right up there for small hand held torches.

Small enough to fit in a pocket or handbag, but bright enough for most situations.

Easy to operate, and switch between bright and low beam. Focusing the beam is quick and easy to do. The 'candle' mode is useful to provide general lighting when required.

I had this one engraved and the engraving was neat and clear, picked out in white it stands out clearly.

Battery life is good, especially using 'low' mode. Keep costs down by using rechargeable batteries, which are available in large capacity and hold their charge with the use of modern technology.

The torch came in a nice presentation box with a pair of batteries so was good to go 'straight out of the box'.
