Nitecore TM39 Lite Rechargeable LED Torch

£269.94 £359.94

The Nitecore TM39 lite is the upgrade from the powerhouse TM38 Lite, but now with even more punch from the upgraded Luminous SBT-90 GEN2 LED that has a super impressive output of 5200 lumens, which is an increase of 3400 lumens on its predecessor, and the LED is set deep in a polished reflector for an astonishing maximum range of 1500 metres.

The TM39 Lite is powered by four 18650 Lithium-ion batteries, which due to the high output need to be high drain batteries like the Nitecore NL1835HP or rechargeable lithium-ion IMR18650 batteries. Other lithium-ion 18650 batteries can be used, however they need to have a high discharge current of at least 8 A in order to work.

The batteries can be charged inside the TM39 Lite by plugging the included mains cable into the charging port on the head of the torch. The OLED screen will display the battery voltage and the battery level via a battery shaped symbol, then once charging is complete the voltage will read 4.2 V and show a full battery after approximately 8 hours if using 4 x 3500 mAh 18650 lithium-ion batteries.

Alternatively the Nitecore NBP68HD rechargeable battery pack can be purchased separately and screws directly onto the head of the torch in place of the 18650 battery section. If charging a separately purchased battery pack, the adaptor can also plug into the 2 A port on the end of the battery and the blue charging indicator will flash rapidly, then flash slowly when at 98% before going solid when the battery is fully charged. Using the included plug charging takes around 15 hours when charging the NBP68HD (not included).

When the batteries are inserted and the body is connected to the head, the integrated multi-functional OLED display with light up and read 'NITECORE' followed by the voltage and battery level before going off and entering standby. Once the torch is turned on the OLED shows the user the current status of the torch by displaying the lumen output, brightness level, beam distance, battery voltage, battery level, remaining run-time and even the temperature of the torch. The stats will be displayed for 30 seconds before the screen turns off, which can be reactivated at any time by a single press of the mode button.

The light is operated with two buttons on the head of the torch, with the bottom power button turning the light on and off with a single press. Once the light is turned on, and the OLED screen is on, the top mode button will cycle through the brightness levels in the order of low, mid and high, however if the screen is off, firstly press the mode button to turn it on and then continue to press to cycle the modes. The last used brightness level will be remembered the next time the torch is turned on.

Turbo is activated with the torch on or off by holding down the mode button. Direct access to low can be achieved by holding down the power button while the light is off, which is useful when a higher setting may be memorised and you require a lower output. Three special modes are also available and can be accessed by double pressing the power button with the light on to enter strobe, and then the mode button can be used to cycle through strobe, SOS and beacon.

A handy lockout feature prevents accidental activation which is achieved by holding down the power button while the torch is on and the light will flash once and the screen will display 'LOCK'. To exit lockout hold down both the power and mode buttons.

Other features include a tripod mounting port, which allows the TM39 Lite to be set on a standard tripod, a shoulder carry strap to free up your hands and a built-in thermal protection circuit.

Please Note: Turbo and high modes are not recommended to be used for extended periods of time as they generate heat that may be uncomfortable for the user. The thermal protection will automatically lower the output of the torch if the internal temperature reaches 60°C or higher to prevent the torch from overheating and to protect the LED. Do not submerge a heated torch in water as this could cause irreparable damage.
