Nitecore P35i Rechargeable LED & LEP Torch

The Nitecore P35i is a high performance, dual beam rechargeable torch with a maximum output of 3000 lumens from 6 x Cree XP-G3 LED LED in floodlight, and is also equipped with a long range LEP spotlight.

This is the first torch from Nitecore to use an LEP (Laser Excited Phosphor), which uses a laser instead of an LED as it's light source. It meets the Class 1 standards for an eye-safe LEP light with a beam that emits less than 0.39 mW, delivering a much more even, concentrated and steady output than LED lights. Thanks to this new LEP design it is capable of 1650 metres beam range with hardly any spill light, when used on the Spot setting with output of 410 lumens, making it easy to penetrate smoke and fog.

Designed for hunting and searching applications, the P35i comes supplied with the RSW2i tactical pressure switch cable. The remote switch cable can be plugged directly into the tail cap USB-C port for easy attachment, eliminating the need to unscrew and replace the tail cap. The torch also has a multi-functional OLED display screen which shows the output, brightness level, user mode, beam distance and remaining runtime.

Three user modes of spotlight, floodlight and mixed are available, each with their own set of brightness levels and a customisable preset setting is also available. To select a mode, hold down the side mode button and click the tail switch to cycle spot mode, flood mode or mixed mode, and release the button at the desired mode as shown on the OLED screen. Fully press the tail button to turn the torch on/off, or half press the button for momentary illumination until the button is released.

With the light on the brightness levels can be cycled through ultralow, low, mid, high and turbo with each press of the mode button in spot or flood mode, or low, mid, high and preset in mix mode. Direct access to turbo can be achieved constantly for 30 seconds while the light is on by holding the mode button.

To customise the preset level setting, press and hold the mode button for 5 seconds while the torch is off and it will first enter the beam distance setting. Each press on the mode mode will cycle through the beam distances of 350 m, 650 m, 900 m, 1200 m, 1650 m and once you reach the desired one long press the mode button to lock it in and move onto brightness level selection. Again press the mode button to cycle through 10, 70, 300 or 1000 lumens and hold the mode button down to lock in the desired output and exit the preset customisation. 

The last used mode and brightness setting will be recalled the next time the torch is turned back on. With the light turned off beacon can be accessed with a triple press of the mode button and then a long press will cycle between the beacon and SOS. To exit the special modes single press the mode button.

With the included pressure switch cable connected the light can be turned on momentarily by holding down the pressure pad (B) and will turn off when released, or turned on constantly by pressing the button (A). Once the light is constantly turned on, single press B to cycle through the brightness levels. Strobe can be accessed momentarily with the light on or off by holding down A.

The included Nitecore NL2150HPi battery is a patented i series battery that has a high discharge current of 15 A in order to be able to access the high output of the P35i, and a regular 21700 mAh battery is not compatible with the P35i.

Two CR123A lithium metal non-rechargeable batteries or two RCR123A lithium-ion rechargeable batteries can also be used in the torch with the included CR123A carrier, however these cannot be recharged inside the torch and only a maximum output of 1000 lumens is possible. Never attempt to charge CR123A lithium metal batteries.

With the included NL2150HPi battery inserted into the torch, ensure that the head and tail cap are tightly screwed on before lifting the dust cover to reveal the USB-C port, that is located on the tail of the torch. Plug the included cable into the USB-C charging port, and the USB-A end into a suitable USB power source.

The tail charging indicator light will slowly flash while charging is in progress and the OLED screen will display the charging status. Once charging is complete the tail indicator will turn solid and the screen will show a full bar. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours when charging the included battery with a 5 V, 2 A output.

The integrated advance temperature regulation (ATR) technology regulates the output of the P35i according to the working condition and ambient environment to maintain the optimal performance.

Note: *Tested without temperature regulation active. As this is a high drain device, the temperature regulation may lower the output to reduce the temperature of the torch when used in the turbo mode. Turbo 3000 lumens mode is only accessible when using the i series 15 A 21700 battery and the P35i cannot use any other 21700 battery.

Tested to ANSI/PLATO FL1-2019 standards in laboratory conditions using the included 21700 5000 mAh 15 A battery. The data may vary slightly in real world use depending on battery type, individual usage habits and environmental factors.
