Olight Warrior 3S Rechargeable LED Torch

The Olight Warrior 3S is the successor to the Warrior 3 with only one physical difference, which is the less aggressive bezel for a more comfortable carry, and one new feature which is the proximity sensor. All other specifications, including lumen outputs and operations remain the same as before.

Both these models update the popular M2R Pro Warrior with a higher output, and design changes to both the tail switch and side switch, yet retains the compact size, 21700 lithium-ion battery power source and deeper knurling design.

It is capable of 2300 lumens output on the highest turbo setting, before dropping down to 800 lumens after 2.5 minutes constant use, and then after a further 2 hours 40 minutes the output will drop again to 250 lumens to prevent the LED from overheating. The LED has been changed to a cool white LED, which combined with a TIR reflector produces a standard defined hot spot with a spill light for a the perfect all round beam profile, and can reach up to a maximum of 300 metres beam range.

As well as the active thermal management system that reduces the output when the temperature gets too hot, the Warrior 3S also features a nifty proximity sensor that will automatically reduce the output if the head of the torch becomes too close to an object when it is setting 3 or higher so that the heat expelled from the torch doesn't cause any damage. If the obstruction is there for longer that 60 seconds then the light will turn off. The sensor can also be deactivated during use with caution, however turning off the light will reset this.

The dual switch style remains, yet the tail switch has been altered to now be compatible with a push to lock remote switch design for a more secure attachment in use while the side switch has been altered to display battery level and brightness level indicators.

The multi-function side-switch turns the torch on and off with each press and cycles through the brightness modes of low, mid and high when you hold down the side button with the light on. For turbo access you double click the button and a triple click enters strobe. Moonlight mode can be accessed by holding the button down while the light is off. The memory function will remember the last mode used for moonlight, low, mid and high.

When the light is turned on the indicator switches either side of the button will illuminate. The indicators up the left hand side are to show the mode you are in with the first one for moonlight or low, the second one for mid, the third one for high and the fourth one for turbo. The indicators up the right hand side are battery level indicators and the bottom fist one shows 10-25% power, the second one is 25-50% power, the third one is 50-75% power and the fourth one is above 75% power.

The tactical tail switch is a quiet press button with minimal noise for tactical purposes and can be used in two modes; configuration 1 or configuration 2. The torch factory default setting is configuration 1 and to switch to configuration 2 you deep press the tail switch and hold, then single press the side switch. After releasing the tail switch it will then be in the other configuration.

In configuration 1 the Warrior 3S tail switch will access turbo with a quick deep press and release or mid with a quick half press and release. If the button is pressed and held then the light will enter momentary illumination in the corresponding output and the light will go off when the button is released. In configuration 2 it will provide momentary access to turbo with a half press and hold, or momentary access to strobe with a deep press and hold.

A handy lockout function prevents the torch from being accidentally activated and is accessed by pressing and holding the side switch for 2 seconds. It will enter moonlight mode first and then go into lockout. To unlock press and hold the button for over 2 seconds until the moonlight mode comes back on.

It is powered using the included Olight 21700 5000 mAh customised lithium-ion battery, which is recharged inside the torch using the included MCC3 magnetic charging cable. Simply connect the magnet to the base of the Warrior 3S and plug the USB-A end into a USB power source. The indicator light on the magnet will go red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete after approximately 5 hours, 30 minutes when using a 5V, 2A output.

The detachable dual pocket clip can be attached to clothing easily from both sides while the sturdy holster is perfect for carrying the Warrior 3S on your belt and it also features a flap with clip fastening to make sure your torch stays secure while you are on the move.
