This Tank007 TK566 Ultraviolet torch is a superbly engineered compact tool that delivers UV light with a wavelength of 365 nm and has now been updated to a 3 W Korean LED.

The torch now features two levels of high and low, with the high operating at a 3 W output and the low operating at a 1 w output. The two levels are changed between by half pressing the tail switch with the light on.

A vacuum coated aluminium reflector provides a uniform beam with no black spot in the middle, while the clear lens has been updated to a black filter that absorbs 99% of visible light but provides high transmission in the UV wavelength of light that is designed to target the 365 nm wavelength this torch provides.

Constructed of tough aluminium it is designed to give a reliable and long service life.

Good little torch, no background spill into visible so only see emission, powerful enough to see banknotes nicely and some fungi

Good, but not powerful enough for outdoors

No complaints with the service or product quality at all, just too feeble to be good fun, If you want to play around outdoors I suggest you go for a wider beam much more powerful multi-led torch.To be fair outdoors was not one of its described uses, so my fault really.

Hi Stephen, Thanks for your feedback it is appreciated. With this being a UV torch it does not throw out much visible light due to the wavelength of the light emitted. The UV aspect of the torch is useful for many applications where a UV light at 365 nm is a requirement.

Suitable for lichen identification

Got this one as those lichen that fluoresce only do so at the shorter wavelength. Works as expected and is robust. Delivery etc were fine.

Amazing little torch

Even through I’d check the dimensions the torch was much smaller than I expected when it arrived. It feels great in hand, very robust and machined to a high standard. Various modes to choose from and when on high it is amazing how much light this tiny torch produces. Run time seems fine so far also. If in doubt, buy it and you won’t regret. As a side note, Torch Direct…. Quick and efficient service. Full marks :)
