Olight Marauder Mini Rechargeable LED Torch

The Olight Marauder Mini is a miniature version of the popular Marauder 2, with a more compact body yet still offering a powerful output of 7000 lumens at Level 7 in floodlight mode, which will have a timed downshift of 2 minutes to prevent the LED from overheating.

A large circular LED sits in the centre of the head to enable an 600 m spotlight beam, and 6 smaller LEDs circle the edge in pairs to produce the 7000 lumen floodlight beam.

In addition to the spotlight and floodlight modes, the Marauder Mini also has a red LED, green LED and blue LED dispersed around the edge between the flood LEDs. Red light is the best colour for protecting the natural night vision of your eyes and reduces eye strain in low light situations, while green light is less visible to animals and blue light is good for fishing or aids in the tracking of fluids.

Seven brightness levels in both spot and flood are available, while four brightness levels in red, green and blue are available as well as a strobe mode. All outputs are controlled using the rotary knob switch and the slide toggle switch on the body. The lower slide switch toggles between the spot or flood output, pushing up for spotlight or down for floodlight. The circular blue switch will turn the light on and off with a single press, however to prevent accidental activation the Marauder Mini will automatically lock after 10 seconds without use, so the button has to be rotated 90° to unlock the torch.

With the light unlocked and turned on, the brightness level can be changed by twisting the rotary button clockwise to increase the brightness or anti-clockwise to decrease the brightness, and will vibrate at the highest and lowest brightness points. The indicator up the left hand side has seven lights that will illuminate with the corresponding number of lights to the brightness level you are on, for example level 4 will show four lights. Up the right hand side the indicator shows the battery status, and both sets of indicators will display for 3 seconds after the brightness level is accessed. If the button is pressed with the light locked, it will display battery status and brightness level indicators up the sides. There is also an extra LED indicator that sits in the middle of the brightness/battery indicators, and this one displays white, red, green or blue so you know the colour mode you are in at a glance.

To change between the white light and RGB outputs, simply press and hold the button with the light on and unlocked and it will cycle through white, red, green, blue and then release the button at the desired colour mode. A single press will turn the light off again (when unlocked) and the last used mode, except level 7, will be remembered the next time the light is turned on. With the button unlocked, a quick double press will provide instant access to level 7 and a quick triple press of the unlocked button will enter the strobe mode.

Unlike the Marauder 2, the Marauder Mini uses the signature magnetic charging system and also has a removable battery. The customised 6500 mAh 32650 lithium-ion battery is recharged inside the torch using the included MCC3 magnetic charging cable. Simply connect the magnet to the base of the torch and plug the USB end into a suitable USB adaptor (5 V 2 A recommended for fastest charging). The indicator light on the magnet will go red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete after approximately 5 hours if the power supply is sufficient enough to support the 2 A output, otherwise the cable will output at a lower rate or 1 A or 1.5 A depending on the power supply.

The Marauder Mini features the hidden lanyard hole that is tucked away on the front when not in use, which can be pulled out to attach the included heavy duty lanyard. A heavy duty nylon holster is also included for protection and carrying of the Marauder Mini when not in use. The body is made from aluminium alloy for durability and also has a silicone grip for a firm hold.
