The Olight i1R 2 Pro is a super compact rechargeable key ring torch that is the updated version of the popular i1R 2 and now has 180 lumens output on the high setting and has been upgraded to a USB-C charging port.

The high performance CSP LED combined with an TIR optic lens produces a soft, well balanced beam with a wide hotspot for a good coverage of light and can reach up to a maximum of 48 metres beam range.

Measuring just over 51 mm in length and weighing only 22 grams, the i1R 2 Pro is extremely compact, making it the perfect size to attach to your keys or to slip in a coat pocket when going out dog walking or to the pub at night and easily fits in a handbag or backpack for everyday carry.

Designed for simple use, the i1R 2 Pro only has two settings of low and high that are controlled with the twist switch that provides smooth, crisp operation. Twist the tail clockwise to tighten it slightly to access low and then twist it a bit further to fully tighten it and access the high mode. Simply loosen the tail again to turn the light off.

The built-in lithium-ion battery has been upgraded to 130 mAh (from 70 mAh) and is recharged by unscrewing the tail of the torch to reveal the USB-C charging port without the need to remove the tail completely. Once revealed, insert the included USB-C cable into the torch one end and then connecting the other end to a USB-A socket or USB adaptor. A red light will come on to show charging is in progress and will turn green once charging is complete after approximately 1 hour, 40 minutes.

The 5 lumen low mode is perfect if you need a small amount of light without disturbing others and that is why it is default to come on first. It is useful for reading at night or finding the key hole in the dark.

Please note that the brightness will decrease as the battery power decreases, so after 23 minutes on high the i1R 2 Pro will drop to 50% power.

Nifty Little Keyring Torch

An ancient LED torch, attached to my keyring and running on a AAA battery, finally gave up the ghost after about 25 years of service, and I wanted something small and preferably rechargeable to replace it.

This little Olight fits the bill perfectly. Charges up on a USB-C cable, and then screws down to cover the charging port to give a high level of waterproofness.

Two levels of brightness by a simple twisting of the tailcap. Works a treat, very happy.

And as ever, Torch Direct service was prompt and efficient.

Great little torch

Bought this for a car key ring to be able to deal with charging / unplugging a PHEV car in the dark. Works great, really compact and a good long-lasting light, and enough to illuminate locks, handles and switches at close range on the Low setting. Haven't really tested the Waterproofing thoroughly, but it's worked fine in the Scottish rain!

Tiny but powerful

Needed replacement for a 2 X AA Mag-Lite. Have lost several small mag-lites to battery corrosion because they are used so infrequently. Assumed rechargeable would not corrode and indicator light would warn me battery needs recharging. Chose keyring olite as it travels with me all the time. Light is vey powerful if needed . Only time will tell but feels and looks solid.

Amazing little torch

Even through I’d check the dimensions the torch was much smaller than I expected when it arrived. It feels great in hand, very robust and machined to a high standard. Various modes to choose from and when on high it is amazing how much light this tiny torch produces. Run time seems fine so far also. If in doubt, buy it and you won’t regret. As a side note, Torch Direct…. Quick and efficient service. Full marks :)
