Coast WPH30R Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The WPH30R is Coast's first fully waterproof rechargeable head torch that offers a maximum output of 1000 lumens when the separate flood and spot LEDs are combined.

Utilising two separate LEDs the WPH30R has a fixed focus beam system. The spot LED offers one output of 600 lumens which provides a bullseye spot beam with a transitional halo of light that has a range of up to 152 metres. The flood LED has two outputs of high or low that provide an even circle of light using the pure beam flood technology. Two separate red LEDs sit in the middle and can be directly accessed so that all important night vision is not disturbed. Red light is also useful for night reading, animal spotting and astronomy.

The dual power system means that it can be powered by the included Coast Zithion-X USB-C rechargeable lithium-ion battery which is more economical in the long run, or it can use two non-rechargeable CR123A lithium metal batteries, which is great if you want to charge your battery and still continue using the torch with CR123A batteries. never attempt to charge the torch with CR123A batteries installed.

The Zithion-X battery features a USB-C port built into the top of the battery so that it can be charged outside of the torch using the included USB-C to split USB-C/USB-A cable. The battery can also be charged inside the torch via the hidden Pro-Tek charging port, which can be revealed by unscrewing the relevant end. If you want to swap out the batteries being used then the opposite end of the head torch unscrews fully. Plug the included cable in the battery or torch, and the other end of the cable into a suitable USB adaptor to being charging. While charging is in progress an LED indicator glows red, either on the battery or next to the torch charging port, and turns green once charging is complete after approximately 4 hours.

A single press of the button turns the light on and it cycles through the five brightness levels in the order of flood high, flood spot, combined, flood low, red and off with each press, giving you the option to choose the right level for your application. If in any mode for longer than 5 seconds the next press will turn the light off instead of continuing to cycle the modes thanks to Coast's easy off technology. The red light can be directly accessed by quickly double pressing the button in any state, while the highest output (combined) can be accessed by holding the button for two seconds.

A battery status LED indicator is built into the switch and will illuminate when the torch is turned on to show remaining battery power at the current level. Green indicates that the battery is fully charged, red indicates that the battery needs charging and flashing red indicates the battery is nearly drained and needs to be charged immediately.

The headband has been updated to Coast's Ultra Strap which has a hollow design for increased breathability and features a quick release safety buckle so that it can be easily attached or removed from the head or hardhat. It also maintains the non-slip adjustable design and reflective material for safety and additional visibility in low light. The bracket allows for rotation of the head torch and the torch can also be removed from the head band bracket for hand held use.

The WPH30R is fully dust proof and waterproof to IP68 standards, and can be submerged up to a depth of 5 metres, making it perfect for those water adventures and a variety of outdoor activities.
