TFX Propus 3500 Rechargeable LED Torch

The brand new TFX range is here, offering a series of tactical lights designed to provide high power, concentrated outputs. Although a new name in the industry, they are powered by Ledlenser, a trusted and reliable brand with over 20 years experience.

Coming in at mid range of the TFX series, the Propus 3500 utilises a neutral white Xtreme LED with a colour temperature of 5000-5500 K to provide a maximum output of 3500 lumens, and a beam range of up to 250 metres on the high power setting. The tactically optimised reflector focuses a large part of the LED to create a central hot spot which can be good for blinding potential threats, while also providing spill lighting around the hot spot to illuminate surroundings for the ideal tactical beam profile.

The switch sits on the neck of the torch and the soft rubberised button has a battery indicator built into the switch itself that displays green, green flashing, red or red flashing to notify the user of the battery level.  A press of the side switch will turn the light on in the last used mode, and once turned on the brightness level can cycled through in a loop with single presses in the order of high, mid and low starting from the current setting. The light is turned off by holding down the button, and it will remember the last mode used. There is also a momentary strobe function for tactical defence which can be activated with two quick presses and then holding the button when the light is on or off. Once the button is released the torch will exit strobe and go back to the previous mode.

The tail has a U shaped design for tail stand capability, which unscrews to install the included Ledlenser 4800 mAh 21700 lithium-ion battery with the positive end towards the head, and the tail cap can then be screwed back on as tight as it will go to ensure a good connection. Once installed the 21700 battery can be charged inside the torch via the USB-C port located on the side.

Remove the dust cover from the port to connect the USB-C end of the included cable, and the standard USB-A end plugs into a suitable USB port or adaptor. The LED indicator built into the button will glow red flashing, red or flashing green while charging is in progress (depedning on the amount of current charge) and turn solid green to show charging is complete after approximately 4 hours for a full charge (charging time varies depending on the USB output used).

To prevent accidental activation when not in use, the Propus 3500 has a lockout function which can be accessed with the light turned off by holding the button for 5 seconds, and the light will then blink twice to notify you that lockout has been entered. To exit lockout hold the button down again for 5 seconds and the light will blink once.

The impressive ingress protection offers a rating of IP68 making it fully resistant to solids and fully waterproof when submerged in water up to a depth of 2 metres for 30 minutes, and it is impact resistant up to 2 metres, so you know it can withstand the toughest of tactical applications. A wrist lanyard is included for extra security while carrying, and a nylon holster provides protection and easy belt carry when not in use.

Tested according to ANSI FL1 standard using the included 4800 mAh 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable battery. These results are average values which in individual cases can deviate by ± 15% for technical reasons.
