Fenix LD22 V2.0 LED Torch with USB Rechargeable Battery

The Fenix LD22 V2.0 updates the 2015 version with a maximum output increase from 300 to 800 lumens thanks to the newer Luminus SST20 LED, and the addition of a lithium-ion USB rechargeable battery which allows for access to higher outputs. This new version is still also compatible with 2 x AA alkaline or NiMH batteries as a back up, keeping you safer with dual power options.

A Fenix ARB-L14-1100U USB-C rechargeable lithium-ion battery is included with the torch, which is charged outside of the torch via the USB-C charging port on the battery itself using the included USB-C to USB-A charging cable. Remove the battery from the torch and insert the cable into the battery at one end, and connect the other end to a USB-A power source. The charging indicator on the battery will go red to show charging in progress and turn blue once charging is complete. The battery can then be reinstalled in the torch, ensuring the tail cap is as tight as it will go.

Five brightness levels as well as strobe and SOS are available, and are operated with a tactical tail switch and a side mode button. The tail switch turns the torch on and off with a full press, and a half press provides momentary illumination until the button is released. Once the torch is turned on the side mode switch will cycle through eco, low, mid, high and turbo with each press (turbo cannot be activated when using a AA battery).

With the light on, hold the side button for 0.5 seconds to activate the strobe mode, and pressing the side switch will then cycle between strobe and SOS. Hold the side button again for 0.5 seconds to return to the previous brightness level. The intelligent memory circuit will remember the last setting used for your convenience (except strobe/SOS).

The torch will generate a lot of heat when used in turbo for a prolonged period, therefore the overheat protection will automatically reduce the output when the internal temperature reaches 60° in order to protect the LED from overheating, and once the torch has cooled the turbo mode can be reselected.

A detachable stainless steel pocket clip is included so that the LD22 V2.0 can be easily attached to clothing or a backpack, and the torch features two connection points for the pocket clip allowing it to face the desired direction. There is also a stainless steel bezel on the head of the torch for lens protection and the torch is impact resistant from a height of up to 1 m. The IPX8 rating means that the torch can safely be submerged under water up to 2 m for 1 hour, providing the tail cap is screwed on tightly.

Note: *The turbo output is measured at total run-time, including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the built-in protection mechanism. The over-heat protection will drop the turbo brightness level if the internal temperature reaches 60°C.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix ARB-L14-1100U lithium-ion rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
