Fenix LD15R Rechargeable LED Torch

The Fenix LD15R is a compact rechargeable torch that offers 500 lumens maximum output from the Cree XP-G3 white LED and also has secondary red LED.

It is powered by one 16340 lithium-ion rechargeable battery (ARB-L16-700 included), which is easily recharged inside the torch using the provided USB cable which slots into the micro USB charging port on the neck of the torch one end and the other end goes straight into a USB port on a computer/laptop or can be used with a mains/car USB adaptor. A CR123A non-rechargeable battery can also be used in the torch in an emergency situation.

The light is positioned on the side of the torch rather than on the end, so the light would be facing outwards when attached to a jacket pocket with the two clip so you can easily see in front of you, or if it were attached to a vertical metal surface using the magnetic tail cap, the torch can be directed left, right, up or down depending on where you need it.

The push button switch sits on top of the torch and activates the white light by holding it for 0.5 seconds and then each press cycles through the modes of low, mid, high and turbo. Hold the button down for 0.5 seconds to turn the light off, or continue to hold the button for 1.2 seconds to change to the red LED. Each press will then cycle through red, red signal, red SOS. The red light can also be accessed from off by continuing to hold the button after the white light has come on. The intelligent memory circuit remembers the last white brightness setting used.

A battery level indicator is built into the switch and will display battery status when the button is pressed once while the torch is off. Constant green indicates a full charge 100-85%, green flashes is sufficient charge 85-50%, red constant is poor battery level 50-25% and red flashes indicates critical battery level 25-1%.

The low battery voltage warning function is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level when the voltage drops below the preset level. Once it reaches low output the battery indicator will go red and blink once every 3 seconds to remind you to charge your 16340 battery.

Because the torch will accumulate a lot of heat at turbo level, the LD15R will automatically downshift to 200 lumens after 5 minutes continuous use to prevent high surface temperature and damage to the LED.

Note: The LD15R is NOT compatible with the ARB-L16-700UP as the charging port means it is too long to work in the torch. We recommend using the Xtar 16340 battery if you require a spare.

Tested to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standards using one Fenix 16340 700 mAh lithium-ion battery. The above parameters are approximate and may vary between torch, battery and environment.

Please Note: *The torch will drop down from turbo setting to 200 lumens after 5 minutes of continuous use to protect the LED from overheating, therefore this is an accumulated time.
