Fenix HP25R V2.0 Rechargeable LED Head Torch

The Fenix HP25R V2.0 updates the original HP25R, still offering versatility, with the ability to separately control a spot and a flood beam (can be used simultaneously) as well as a offering a red output.

New upgrades included a Luminus SST40 LED which provides a higher output of 1600 lumens spotlight and Cree XP-G3 S4 neutral white LED gives a maximum output of 400 lumens in floodlight mode. There is also a Everlight 2835 red LED which is useful for preserving night vision of the user, while making their position to others less obvious than a white light, which is perfect for being out in the wilds where you may not want to disturb wildlife or others around you.

The torch is now powered using the included Fenix 21700 5000 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery for best run-times due to the larger capacity, and is charged inside of the battery pack that sits on the back of the headband, with an updated USB-C port via the included Type C charging cable for fast charging. Remove the dust cover from the USB port on the battery pack and plug the cable into the torch one end and the other end into a USB power source.

An LED indicator will go red to indicate charging is in progress and will turn green once charging is complete. The charging time for the included 21700 5000 mAh capacity battery is approximately 4 hours with a 5V 2A input. Always replace the dust cover after charging to maintain the dust ingress protection.

Alternatively you can use an 18650 lithium-ion battery (not included), however the 18650 battery must be inserted in a ALF-18 battery holder (not included) before inserting it into the torch.

Two buttons on the top control separate functions, with the general button controlling the main white light and the functional button controls the flood and red light. Turn the light on in the corresponding mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds. Once on each press of the general button cycles through the modes of eco, low, mid, high, turbo or each press of the functional button cycles through the modes of low, mid, high, red and SOS. The last used setting will be memorised next time the light is turned back on.

To prevent accidental activation the HP25R V2.0 has a lockout function. To access the lockout, with the lamp turn off, press and hold either or both buttons for 3 seconds and the red light will blink four times to show it is in lockout. Press both buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to unlock the light and the red light will blink again and come on in the red mode.

The battery indicator displays the battery status for 3 seconds by pressing either button once when using the included battery. A solid green light indicates saturated, flashing green is sufficient, solid red is poor and flashing red is critical. The battery indicator also acts as a low voltage warning light while the torch is in use when using the included battery.

When using an 21700 battery, if the battery voltage drops below the preset level, the torch is designed to downshift in brightness level until the eco output is reached. When eco is reached the battery level indicator will blink 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to charge or replace the battery.

The overheat protection will automatically reduce the turbo lumen output if the temperature of the torch reaches 60°C or above in order to protect the LED from overheating. Once the temperature has dropped below 60°C the turbo can be reselected again.

Note: *The turbo and high mode is measured at total run-time including any reduced output levels due to the temperature regulation design.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix 5000 mAh 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
