Fenix E28R V2.0 Rechargeable LED Torch

The Fenix E28R V2.0 is the updated compact rechargeable torch that offers 1700 lumens maximum output from the Luminus SST40 cool white LED.

The E28R V2.0 offers three modes, four brightness levels and strobe outputs to suit a variety of needs. The location mode features both red and green outputs, perfect for preserving night vision and the magnetic flat tail cap is great for hands free use.

It is powered by the included 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable battery, but it is also compatible with two CR123A non-rechargeable lithium metal batteries can also be used in the torch in an emergency situation. Never attempt to charge the torch with CR123A batteries inside.

The 18650 lithium-ion battery is easily recharged inside the torch via the USB-C charging port for faster charging. Remove the dust cover from the USB-C port, and plug the included cable into the torch at the USB-C end and the standard USB-A end into a computer/laptop or a suitable USB mains/car adaptor. The LED charging indicator will go red to indicate charging is in progress and will turn green once charging is complete.

The E28R V2.0 has three different modes. The torch first turns on, by default, in Mode A which is the general mode. Press the push button on the side of the torch for 0.5 seconds to turn the torch on in Mode A. Single press the button to cycle through the eco, low, medium, high and turbo outputs.

Mode B is the strobe output, press and hold the button for 1.2 seconds to enter the strobe output. Single press the button again to exit strobe and enter Mode A.

Mode C is the location mode which allows for easy location of the torch either when placed on the ground or from others. To enter this mode double press the push button while the torch is off. Single press the push button to cycle through the red constant, green constant, red breathing and green breathing outputs.

Thanks to the memory function the last used output in the general mode will be memorised and the E28R V2.0 will turn on in that output. This excludes the turbo setting which will turn on in the high output instead.

To prevent accidental activation the E28R has a lockout mode. It is accessed by three quick presses of the button while the light is off and the torch will blink twice to indicate it has entered lock-out mode, and can be unlocked in the same way.

Note: *Due to the temperature regulation the torch will use intelligent downshift to reduce the output in order to cool the torch during constant use. Therefore this is a cumulative run-time for the turbo output and the torch doesn't run continuously at 1500 lumens for the stated time.

Tested to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standards using one Fenix 18650 3400 mAh lithium-ion battery. The above parameters are approximate and may vary between torch, battery and environment.
