Fenix E-CP Rechargeable LED Torch & Power Bank

The Fenix E-CP is a high powered rechargeable torch that can provide a maximum of 1600 lumens and also doubles as an 18 W fast charging power bank to charge external devices with it's built-in 5000 mAh lithium-ion battery.

Five brightness levels as well as strobe are available, and are controlled using the metal side switch. To turn on the light hold the button for 0.5 seconds, and then single press to cycle through eco, low, mid, high and turbo. To access the strobe press and hold the button for 1.2 seconds, and single press the button to return to the previously used mode. Hold the button for 0.5 seconds to turn it off.

To prevent accidental activation when not in use while stowed in a pocket or backpack, the E-CP has a handy lockout function. To activate the lockout quickly double press the button within 0.5 seconds while the light is off and the light will blink twice in low mode to indicate the lockout status. It can be unlocked in the same way and will turn on in the eco mode, or it can also be unlocked by plugging it in to charge.

It is powered by a built-in 5000 mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery which is recharged via the USB-C charging port that is concealed on the end of the torch. Open the anti-dust cap to reveal the port and plug in the included USB-C end of the cable into the torch and plug the other end into a standard USB-A port or a compatible USB adaptor. The four charging indicators will increase from left to right while charging is in progress and all four will turn solid once charging is complete after approximately 2 hours when using a 18 W or higher fast charging adapter, or in 3.5 hours when using a 5 V, 2 A adapter.

Next to the USB-C port there is also a standard USB-A port, and both can be used as a power bank with an 18 W fast charging output to charge external devices such a mobile phone, tablet, smart watch etc. The included cable can be used with the USB-A port to charge USB-C devices, and is a fast charging cable capable of fast charging when used with a fast charge adapter (not included) and a compatible fast charging device. If using the USB-C port as an output you will need to use a different charging cable, such as USB-C to USB-C for example.

When a device is plugged in to either the USB-A or USB-C output the four LED indicators will decrease from right to left as the battery is drained. The torch can still be used while being discharged, but can only access eco, low or mid modes and the charging time will be prolonged as well as drain the battery faster.

A battery level indicator will automatically display the battery status for 5 seconds when the button is pressed once while the light is off. Four lights indicates 100-80% charge, three lights is 80-60% charge, two lights is 60-40% charge, one light is 40-20% charge and one flashing light indicates less than 20% critical battery level and that the battery should be charged as soon as possible. If the battery voltage drops below the preset level, the penlight is designed to downshift in brightness level until the eco output is reached. When eco is reached the light will blink three times every 5 minutes to remind you to charge the battery.

The torch will generate a lot of heat when used in high or turbo for extended periods, therefore the overheat protection will automatically reduce the output when the internal temperature reaches 50° in order to protect the LED from overheating, and once the torch has cooled the high or turbo mode can be reselected.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using the built-in 5000 mAh rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
