The Xtar MC6C is a smart lithium-ion battery charger with an LCD display and six independent charging bays with up to 1 A charging with a maximum of 3 bays.
The MC6C is suitable for charging the following Lithium-ion / IMR / INR / ICR batteries;
10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17335, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 20700*, 21700*, 22650, 25500**, 26650**, Flat 32650**
*Can not charge protected 20700 and 21700 cells.
**Larger cells can only be charged in the outer two bays (CH1 & CH6)
To provide flexibility the MC6C has two power inputs, either a 5 V 3 A DC port for the included USB cable or a 5 V 3 A micro USB port for use with a micro USB cable (not included). Simply insert the included cable into the DC input port and then plug the standard USB end into the USB port of a computer, power bank, mains socket or USB adaptor, and all the LCD screen above the empty bays will light up. The charger is then ready to go and batteries can be inserted.
When a battery is inserted the charge status above the corresponding channel will light up. The MC6C will automatically select the suitable charging current for the battery size inserted which will be displayed above the battery icon, while the bars inside the battery icon will start to flash to show charging is in progress and gradually all the bars in the battery icon will become solid to show that the battery is fully charged. The cut-off voltage means the charger will automatically stop charging once the batteries are fully charged, providing that extra safety feature.
If the battery is inserted in the charger the wrong way round the charger will identify that the polarity is reversed, cease charging and notify you with the whole battery icon flashing.
A 0 V activation function can revive an over depleted battery giving it a new lease of life while the TC-CC-CV three stage battery charging method looks after your battery and keeps them in good condition.
The charger uses trickle current firstly to wake the battery up and ease it into the charging process in order to protect the battery when it is at a low voltage, once the battery has reached a nominal voltage it enters the constant current charging stage where a lager charging current is used to charge the battery faster and finally once the battery is almost charged it uses constant voltage to charging which gradually reduces the charging current to finish charging the battery without damaging it.
As with all Xtar chargers the MC6C is made from flame retardant materials and features reverse polarity, short circuit, overcharge and overheat protection.
For charging 3.6/3.7 V lithium-ion batteries only.
Note: Always use in accordance with instruction manual and read before first use.
Channels 1, 2 5 and 6 can all charge at 1 A, however only a maximum of three batteries can be charged at 1 A at once, therefore if all four of the 1 A bays contain a battery, then the charging current will drop to 0.5 A. If batteries are inserted in all six bays then channels 1 and 6 will charge at 0.5 A and channels 2, 3, 4 and 5 will charge at 0.2 A.
