The brand new TFX range is here, offering a series of tactical lights designed to provide high power, concentrated outputs. Although a new name in the industry, they are powered by Ledlenser, a trusted and reliable brand with over 20 years experience.
Coming in at mid range of the TFX series, the Gacrux 2500 utilises a cool white Xtreme LED with a colour temperature of 6000-7000 K to provide a maximum output of 2500 lumens, and a beam range of up to 400 metres on the high power setting. The tactically optimised reflector focuses a large part of the LED to create a central hot spot which can be good for blinding potential threats, while also providing spill lighting around the hot spot to illuminate surroundings for the ideal tactical beam profile.
Designed for tactical applications, the Gacrux 2500 has three strengthened tips on the bezel to enable excellent glass breaking performance in an emergency, and a lever designed for instant access to Strobe.
The tactical tail switch has a central button and two ambidextrous lever buttons either side. The central button turns the torch on and off with a full click of the button and will come on in the previously used output. The central button can also be half pressed to provide momentary operation and will also change the brightness level with quick half presses within 1 second of each other to cycle through low, mid, high and a full click will then select the brightness level you are on.
The lever switches both control the 17 Hz strobe output from on or off, and sit either side of the central button for easy access from all angles. A press and hold will access momentary strobe which will turn off when the button is released, or a single press will turn the strobe on and off.
To install the included Ledlenser 4800 mAh 21700 lithium-ion battery firstly unscrew the tail cap and then insert the battery with the positive end towards the head, and the tail cap can then be screwed back on as tight as it will go to ensure a good connection. The battery is charged externally via the included battery charger that features a USB-C port at the top to connect the charger to a USB-A power source using the included cable.
Four LED indicators up one side of the charger will display the charging status (25, 50, 75 or 100%), and the button on the left allows the user to cycle through to select between the charging currents of 0.5 A, 1 A or 2 A depending on the battery type inserted. As well as the included 21700 battery, the charger is also compatible with 14500, 16340 and 18650 lithium-ion batteries, or AA, AAA and AAAA NiMH batteries.
The impressive ingress protection offers a rating of IP68 making it fully resistant to solids and fully waterproof when submerged in water up to a depth of 2 metres for 30 minutes, and it is impact resistant up to 2 metres, so you know it can withstand the toughest of tactical applications. A wrist lanyard is included for extra security while carrying, and a nylon holster provides protection and easy belt carry when not in use.
