The brand new TFX range is here, offering a series of tactical lights designed to provide high power, concentrated outputs. Although a new name in the industry, they are powered by Ledlenser, a trusted and reliable brand with over 20 years experience.
Coming in at the higher end of the TFX series, the Arcturus 5000 utilises a neutral white Xtreme LED with a colour temperature of 5000-5500 K to provide a maximum output of 5000 lumens, and a beam range of up to 230 metres on the high power setting. The tactically optimised reflector focuses a large part of the LED to create a central hot spot which can be good for blinding potential threats, while also providing spill lighting around the hot spot to illuminate surroundings for the ideal tactical beam profile.
As well as white light, the Arcturus 5000 also offers a secondary RGB function with red, blue or green light outputs available. Red light is the best colour for protecting the natural night vision of your eyes and reduces eye strain in low light situations, while green light is less visible to animals and blue light aids in the tracking of fluids.
Two buttons sit on the neck of the torch, with four battery indicator lights that sit above them to notify the user of the battery level when the torch is first turned on with either four, three, two, one or no lights (once one light is reached the torch should be charged as soon as possible). The bottom button is the 'power' button and the top button is the 'mode' button. To turn the torch on in the last used white brightness level press the power button once, and the brightness level can be cycled through in a loop with single presses of the mode button in the order of high, mid and low starting from the current setting. The light is turned off by holding down the power button, and it will remember the last mode used.

The light is turned off by holding down the power button, and it will remember the last colour setting used. There is also a momentary strobe function for tactical defence which can be activated with two quick presses and then holding of either button when the light is on or off. Once the button is released the torch will exit strobe and go back to the previous mode.
The tail has a U shaped design for tail stand capability, which unscrews to install the included Ledlenser 5000 mAh lithium-ion battery pack, and the tail cap can then be screwed back on as tight as it will go to ensure a good connection. Once installed the battery can be charged inside the torch via the USB-C port located on the side. The tail also contains the removeable glass breaking tip attached to the base, which can be unscrewed and reattached to the side of the tail cap to be used as a glass breaker in an emergency.
To charge the torch, remove the dust cover from the port to connect the USB-C end of the included cable, and the standard USB-A end plugs into a suitable USB port or adaptor. The four LED indicators above the buttons will gradually illuminate one by one, with one light flashin until solid and the moving to the next one until all four lights are solid green after approximately 5 hours for a full charge (charging time varies depending on the USB output used).
To prevent accidental activation when not in use, the Arcturus 5000 has a lockout function which can be accessed with the light turned off by holding the button for 5 seconds, and the light will then blink twice to notify you that lockout has been entered. To exit lockout hold the button down again for 5 seconds and the light will blink once.
The impressive ingress protection offers a rating of IP68 making it fully resistant to solids and fully waterproof when submerged in water up to a depth of 2 metres for 30 minutes, and it is impact resistant up to 2 metres, so you know it can withstand the toughest of tactical applications. A wrist lanyard is included for extra security while carrying, and a nylon holster provides protection and easy belt carry when not in use.
