Nitecore SC2 Dual Bay Li-ion/NiMH Charger

This Nitecore SC2 is a smart charger with high compatibility and quick charge technology. It can charge various rechargeable batteries in its two independent charging slots with up to a maximum of 3 A speed in one slot and 2 A speed in the other slot.

The SC2 also offers two others charging current options of 0.5 A and 1 A. For lithium-ion batteries and NiMH batteries the charger will automatically select the appropriate charging voltage and charging current. For IMR batteries you will have to manually set the voltage and then the charging current will be automatically selected.

You can manually change the charging current with the option of 3 A, 2 A, 1 A and 0.5 A for larger capacity batteries over 1200 mAh and the option of 1 A and 0.5 A for smaller capacity batteries under 1200 mAh.

When the battery is inserted into the charger (while connected to mains power) the SC2 will inspect the battery before charging commences. If the battery inserted is a non-rechargeable lithium battery, a short circuited battery or has been inserted with the polarity the wrong way round, the eight LEDs above the charging slot will blink to notify the user of an error.

The SC2 is also capable of activating depleted lithium-ion batteries and will test the battery to check if it is damaged before charging it. Recovery of 0 V IMR batteries is also possible with the recovery mode on the charger.

Safety features include reverse polarity protection, shirt circuit protection, temperature monitoring to prevent overheating and over time protection that will calculate the charging time of each battery. When the overall charging time exceeds 10 hours the SC2 will automatically stop charging and display a fully charged status.

A USB port is located on the top of the charger that offers an output of 2.1 A so that you charge external devices. It works independently of slot one and can charge an external device with or without a battery in slot 1, however is a battery is placed in slot 2 the battery will take priority and will be fully charged before continuing to charge the external device.
