NEBO Luxtreme Rechargeable LED Torch

The Nebo Luxtreme is a rechargeable torch that features the most advanced optics in a Nebo torch so far to provide a massive beam range of 900 metres.

The high setting offers a maximum of 500 lumens output and there are also mid and low brightness levels, as well as a strobe output to choose from. All outputs are controlled with the single side button, which also features a battery power indicator underneath that will glow orange when the battery level is over 25% and will turn flash orange every second when the battery levels drops below 25% to remind you to charge the battery.

The torch is turned on with a single press and will cycle through high, mid, low and off with each press. To activate strobe quickly double press the button in any state and single press to exit it again. If left in low, mid or high for longer than 8 seconds the next press will turn the light off rather than cycling to the next mode.

Sometimes the highest output may not be required, so for that reason the Luxtreme has a direct to low feature which is achieved by holding the button from off and the torch will come on in low. The modes can then be cycled through backwards in the order of low, mid high if the button is pressed within 8 seconds.

Smart Power Control technology will gradually increase the light when the torch is turned on or when changing between modes, allowing the users eyes to adjust to the brightness change more easily and also to reduce the power consumption of the torch.

The torch is powered by a 21700 lithium-ion battery which is charged inside the torch via the USB-C charging port located on the neck of the torch, and is revealed by lifting the dust cover. Simply plug the included cable into the USB-C port at one end and plug the other end into a USB power source. The charging indicator in the switch will flash green while charging is in progress and turn solid green once charging is complete after approximately 4 hours, 30 minutes.

With an ingress protection rating of IP66, the Luxtreme is fully dust resistant and is water resistant to a strong water jet. a lanyard is included also for extra security while carrying.

Good for the money

Good quality for the price/performance. Only negative I can see is the plastic lens which can pick up small scratches. Only slightly less throw than my Warrior X Pro.

Night into day!

I bought this light principally for caving, having previously had an old Oldham mining light with a lead acid cell! I haven’t actually used yet for caving but just going out at night is incredible. It almost turns night into day. I particularly like the simple single control. Turn one way for flood, the other for spot and press the bit in the middle for both! In this age of complicated menus and App controlled devices this is a welcome relief. Charge life seems amazing too and far more than I would ever need down a cave but that’s a reassuring comfort. My only reservation is the IP66 rating suggesting it can’t be submerged. I’m afraid I may have to test that out as I go through some sump somewhere but it won’t be for long and it won’t be deep so I hope it will be ok. I’m hoping it will be ok in a waterfall!

From 2 lumens to 47

Have two of the original 2 lumen Solitaires which got phased out of use with the built in torch on a mobile phone and have now gone back to the current 47 lumen LED Solitaires as having a torch on the key ring is more handy than faffing with a phone. I considered a bulb swap on the old Solitaire but not much of a leap to 15 lumens and the bulb + postage was not far off getting a then 30something lumen new LED torch, so now we are at 47 lumens and the aftermarket LED conversion bulbs haven't changed much and the costs still leaned in favour of just getting a new torch.
Crisp white light, lights up an average sized room with ease, so ideal for getting from or to the car in darkness and up or down stairs in darkness. The two originals have been going for over twenty years and where never that great on lumen output but worked and took some abuse. Still the same bodywork as the original just with up to date internals and LED. Leave a spare AAA battery in the car glove box for that moment you run out of power... Might be other brighter or more complex torches out there, but the basic twist on or off or remove the lenses cap for candle mode works for me. Simple, robust, AAA battery so easy to get anywhere and cheap.
I bought 2x gift boxed and they came with Energiser Max battery which was expiry dated to 12/30 so no complaints there.

Big improvement on earlier 2D model upgraded to LED bulb

The ML300LX with its dedicated LED module is a huge improvement on earlier models.
This torch replaced an earlier 2D model of mine originally fitted with a krypton filament bulb. I improved this by fitting a replacement LED 'bulb', but the ML300LX is in a different league; the dedicated LED module significantly increasing brightness. The variable brightness control is a useful feature.

Ideal Headtorch

I have only used this torch once, but found it to give a very good beam of light. I like that it's rechargeable as I have found that some headtorches aren't very easy to replace the batteries.
It suits my purpose well.
I wouldn'd have any hesitation in recomending it to others looking for a new headtorch.

A good and very simple head torch to use

I purchased this torch for a friend who had previously had head torches but found the various settings extremely fiddly to operate when in use. The criteria was for ease of use, light weight, a white light and focusing was not a requirement.

This torch utilises a single switch to activate all the modes. On/off and the different light settings. Couldn't be simpler.

The torch may seem expensive, but you get a high quality product that does what it says on the tin.

Fantastic Headtorch for running

Had one of these for 2 years now. Ran two 100 milers and a 100k overnight, used it loads for off-road running. I bought a spare battery (as per ultra running kit list), but in all honesty 1 battery lasted two full nights on the medium "flood" setting. I haven't had to use the "spot" light, the flood is good enough. The ONLY thing that bugs me, is you need to wear a hat/bandanna/sweatband to stop the light bouncing down. It's not a big issue though and certainly won't stop me buying another one for the Mrs.
