The Olight Array 2 is an updated version of the popular Array, with a higher output, new button positioning and now with USB-C charging.
The head torch utilises a cool white spot LED and a cool white flood LED combined to give a maximum output of 600 lumens. The flood LED is a close range diffused soft light while the spot LED provides a central hotspot, so combined they produce a balanced all round beam profile of near and far lighting (beams are used together and cannot be operated separately).
A push button switch is now on top of the headlamp, rather than on the headband, and controls the four outputs, turning the light on in the last used mode (except SOS) with a single press. Once turned on the brightness level in the current mode can be changed by holding down the button and will cycle low, mid, high until the button is released on the desired output. In the unlocked state, a quick triple press will activate SOS and a single press will turn the light off when in any mode.
To prevent accidental activation when not in use or stowed in a bag, the Array 2 has a lockout function. With the light off, press and hold the button for over 1 second to enter the lockout mode, and repeat to exit the lockout mode.
A built-in 1600 mAh lithium-ion battery pack powers the torch, which sits on the back of the headband, and has now been updated to use a USB-C port rather than magnetic charging. Remove the dust cover from the back of the battery pack to connect the included cable to the USB-C port and then plug the USB-A end into a USB power source with an output of at least 1 A. The indicator on the battery pack will flow red to show charging is in progress and turn solid once charging is complete, after approximately 2 hours.
The fifteen red LED charging indicator lights along the battery pack also act as a battery level indicator when the light is first turned on, as well as a safety tail light. Each five LED section represents a third of battery charge, so when the torch is turned on either one, to or three sections will light up to show the power level. After 3 seconds it will stop displaying the battery level and the flashing tail light will be activated.
The tail light flashes red and increases safety by providing extra visibility to others than may be behind you, which is especially useful if out running or walking in the dark. The taillight only has one mode and cannot be turned off. The head lamp can be rotated within a 60° angle so that the light can be directed where you need it most.
It is a lightweight aluminium design that is perfect for a range of activities such as running, camping, fishing, hiking and other general outdoor/indoor activities.
