The NEBO Slim+ is a thin, ergonomic rechargeable pocket light that outputs 700 lumens of intense bright light from a white COB LED, and also features a EU certified class 2 red laser pointer light in the top of the torch with momentary operation.

Unlike a traditional hand torch, the light does not come from end end of the torch and instead comes from the side of the torch. It can easily be used in the hand, or when attached to a pocket with the included clip the light is perfectly pointing outwards from the body so it can be used hands free. The clip also doubles as a hanging hook that is nestled in the side of the pocket clip and can be folded out to use, and if the clip is not required it can be removed from the torch by twisting it anticlockwise.

The Slim+ has a strong magnet on the base of the torch and on the clip on the back of the torch, which is perfect for work on the car or in a workshop or attaching to other magnetic surfaces.

The power button on the side of the Slim+ turns the torch on and off with each press as the torch has only one dimmable output. The torch will come on in the highest output as default, but while the light is on if you press and hold the button down it will gradually dim until it reaches the lowest output and it will flash to notify you of this. The memory recall will remember the last used brightness, so if you set it to a desired brightness level it will turn back on at that level.

The momentary red laser is useful for pointing to specific points, such as detail on buildings during a guided tour for example. It is activated by pressing and holding down the button, and once the button is released it will turn off again.

The Slim+ is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is recharged via the include micro USB cable. Reveal the charging port on the side of the torch by lifting the silicone dust cover and insert the micro USB end of the cable. Then plug the USB end into a computer, power bank or mains using a USB adaptor. A small charging indicator next to the charging port will turn red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete, which takes approximately 5-6 hours.

The Slim+ also features a USB powerbank function to charge external devices which is useful in an emergency situation where you may not have access to charge a phone. Simple lift the dust cover on the top of the torch to reveal the standard USB port where you can plug in the USB lead of the device you wish to charge.

Really pleased with another great product from Nebo. Like the multiple applications for this device, including the laser and ability to charge other devices from the Nebo Slim+. Casing is good, multi carrying options and two positional magnets, which hold extremely firmly in situ. Great EDC product no questions. Would like for future options, a strobe and also different colour casing, other than stealth black casing. Still great item and glad I purchased.

Neat Unit

I'm very happy with this device. Initially I thought the slider mechanism felt a bit flimsy, but I have now worked through my stock of old batteries and everything works well. A bonus for me is that it will also test button cells, which my previous tested did not. Overall, a good piece of kit at a good price.

Amazing little torch

Even through I’d check the dimensions the torch was much smaller than I expected when it arrived. It feels great in hand, very robust and machined to a high standard. Various modes to choose from and when on high it is amazing how much light this tiny torch produces. Run time seems fine so far also. If in doubt, buy it and you won’t regret. As a side note, Torch Direct…. Quick and efficient service. Full marks :)

It’s not a torch.
The MI is the “Military” version.
It flashes IR or green and can be solid IR or green.
The green is very bright and visible.
The IR is 950nm and if you have the right thing also very bright. iPhone can just about see it.

On the lowest level the light is a little green. Much better at the other illumination level. Takes a while to charge through the USB interface. The battery lasts well. Good for walking the dog at night around poorly illuminated roads.

What do I think of my Nitecore EDC27 Slim Rechargeable LED Torch. Ace!

I bought my Nitecore EDC27 Slim Rechargeable LED Torch quite a while ago. It has taken me a while to get to know what this amazing bit of kit can do! Well it's a torch! yes but's it's more than that! Yes I know it can be useful when taking the rubbish out to find the item you dropped out of the bag blah blah. Now I am a bit older & a bit more savvy, I have bought some work trousers with many pockets in them for all the things it seems you need to carry around in life. In the long pocket next to my Biro pen & propelling pencil is my torch with it's lanyard attached. So I always have it with me. I have found it useful in many ways, one of which was when I broke down in my very old car, I knew I would have to wait a long time for recovery, so I looked up on my phone what to do on my phone, while changing the light settings on my torch when I needed to find the problem. I had a Hi Vis jacket on, but i was in the middle of nowhere. So I used the flashing setting when the van got near so he could find me that bit easier. Yes it's still a torch you say, yes, another time I was walking down an alleyway on a short cut home, when out popped some unwanted people who I was unsure of, as I got near them they asked if they could use my phone, with that I selected the brightest mode, shone it in their faces to temporarily blind them & ran as fast as I could. So for me it's more than a torch. Something I hardly ever leave home without, useful when you lift drops his keys in an unlit pub car park in the rain on a very cold night.
Other stuff. I find the small screen that displays various different things invaluable. Especially if you are going out on a cold winters night, has the torch got enough of a charge, well you can check that, the slimness of it also comes in handy when in your best bib & tucker (a suit) you can easily hide it in your inside pocket. How long does it last, a long time, I have put a bit of string on a label for when I charge it, I charge it so infrequently I nearly forget which one it is, I do use it a lot! Cost, yes it's expensive, but you get what you pay for, very good quality. I really recommend it! Mister XR
