The NEBO Galileo 1000 is a rechargeable lantern that can be used in different ways for versatile use in various situations.
A main cool white lantern mode provides full 360° lighting with a maximum output of 1000 lumens from an Arcus COB LED, which is great for covering a larger close up area. For a more directional light there is a 120° output that comes out the front of the lantern producing 300 lumens, which is useful for tasks that doesn't require the full span of light.
As well as the white outputs the lantern also has a red output, which is useful for preserving night vision, night reading, animal spotting and helps keep mosquitos at bay when you're in a tent as they aren't attracted to the red light as much as white light.
The lantern is operated with the large push button located on the front and will cycle through 360°, 120° and red with each press. The outputs are all dimmable between the highest and lowest output by simply holding down the button when the light is turned on the in any mode and the brightness will gradually begin to dim before then getting brighter again. Release the button at the desired output for the task at hand. Direct to red access can be achieved by holding down the button while the light is off, and each press will then cycle the modes backwards if desired.
As default the light will always come back on at the highest outputs, however using the power memory recall the light can be programmed to remember an output of your choice so that when you next turn the light on it will come on at your memorised brightness.
The Galileo 1000 uses flex power technology and can be powered by the built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is recharged via the include micro USB cable, or it can also use 6 D cell alkaline batteries as a back up when you run out of charge or don't have access to recharge the torch. Never attempt to charge the lantern with alkaline batteries installed.
To charge the internal battery, reveal the charging port on the back of the torch by lifting the dust cover and insert the micro USB end of the cable. Then plug the USB end into a computer, power bank or mains using a USB adaptor. A small charging indicator next to the charging port will turn red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete.
There is also a power bank function which is handy for charging your devices when away from home. Simply insert the devices charging cable into the standard USB-A port (next to the micro USB port) on the lantern to begin charging. A light on the lantern will go green to show the device is being charged.
The handy carry handle allows the lantern to be hung up and easily carried, and also features a carabiner style clip so that it can easily be hooked onto poles or backpacks for example.
Note: Please remove the plastic isolation disc from the battery compartment before first use.
