NEBO Luxtreme SL100 Rechargeable LED & LEP Torch

The Nebo Luxtreme SL100 is a rechargeable torch that is top of the range in the new Luxtreme SL series, offering a long throw spot LEP beam which is capable of shining up to 1 mile, as well as white flood beam and a red flood beam from the COB LEDs.

This is the first torch from Nebo to use an LEP (Laser Excited Phosphor), which uses a laser instead of an LED as it's light source. It meets the Class 1 standards for an eye-safe LEP light, delivering a much more even, concentrated and steady output than LED lights. Thanks to this new LEP design it is capable of 1600 metres beam range with hardly any spill light, when used on the Spot setting with output of 280 lumens, making it easy to penetrate smoke and fog.

The highest setting combines the flood COB led and spot LEP to provide a maximum output of 525 lumens output with a run-time of just over 10 hours. An orange mode selector dial on the back allows for selection of the outputs, rotating through to the left from the off position (O), to flood (F), spot (S), and combined (C). Once the desired mode has been selected, the light can then be turned on with the trigger style button on the front of the torch, allowing for one handed mode changing and operation.

Red light is useful for night reading, animal spotting and preserving night vision and can be directly accessed with the torch on or off by holding the trigger button for 3 seconds, which keep the night vision in tact. The SL100 will not change modes by turning the dial when in the red light mode, and can only be exited by pressing the trigger button once.

If the trigger button is pressed while the selector dial is in the off position the torch will display the battery power status via the 4 indicator LEDs above the dial. Approximate battery status is 100% with 1 red + 3 green lights, 75% with 1 red + 2 green lights, 50% with 1 red + 1 green lights and 25% with 1 red light.

Smart Power Control technology will gradually increase the light when the torch is turned on or when changing between modes, allowing the users eyes to adjust to the brightness change more easily and also to reduce the power consumption of the torch.

The torch is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack (2 x 21700) which is charged inside the torch via the USB-C charging port located on the base of the torch, and is revealed by lifting the dust cover. Simply plug the included cable into the USB-C port at one end and plug the other end into a USB power source. The last charging indicator will flash while charging is in progress until all four light are solid. A USB car charger adaptor is also included for in car charging, and the light can be ran continuously while connected to the car charger, which is handy if you need light on the go.

With an ingress protection rating of IP67, the Luxtreme SL100 is fully dust resistant and is waterproof up to 1 m depth for 30 minutes. A belt clip is attached to the base of the light, and can be taken off or attached to either side of the base to suit your needs, and a lanyard is included for extra security while carrying. There is also a magnet in the base for attaching to magnetic surfaces and it is tripod mountable with the tripod socket in the top of the head.
