Haven't used the item in anger yet...(purchased to enter a few old mining tunnels) other than testing in the bush at night and the Torch exceeds expectations and description in so much as wearability; ease of set-up and use; light function and capability. One thing I would like to mention is the customer experience in purchasing from these guys. We live in NZ...ordered online on Monday and bugger me they arrived at a rural...rural address on the Friday!!! Good emails and tracking info too...Will be back!

Used this torch for running at night and it is really bright, the red light at the back is really useful so you can also be seen from behind

Jogging after work has become an exercise in the dark at this time of year, and my old Petzl Tika has seen better days, and one tends to want to try to get one last run out of a set of batteries before replacing them (yet again). So rechargeable seemed the way to go. This way the torch is always bright, I can see and more importantly, be seen (I live is a semi-rural area with no pavement once out of the village, on 60mph roads). This light is surprisingly bright, the beam focus is easily adjusted as is the tilt of the torch, The red rear light is poor, but I suppose, better than nothing.
At ú65, a lot of money for a jogging torch (hence 4 stars only), but quality abounds, and it should keep me as safe as possible on those dark runs. Recommended
Impressive illumination ..

This is serious equipment .. comfortable, light is outstanding and battery life decent. Drawback? Lighting options are over complicated .. left to the default option everything is fine.

LED Lenser H7R.2 Head Torch

I highly recommend this head torch for its ease of use and the powerful beam it emits. I need it to help me in my work and for leisure and would encourage anyone who has age related sight problems to use one even for reading! Good service and advice from Torch Direct.

My first rechargeable head torch but used an H7 for a long time (which remains brilliant). I also have an T7M hand held torch used in conjunction with the H7R.2 for long night time dog walks. I'm pretty pleased with the new one. The spread of light on flood is far superior to the H7 and the brightness increase seems better than the claimed numbers. It's bigger than the old one but better shaped and therefore more comfortable. I've heard complaints that the instructions aren't clear but seem straight forward to me. Easily figured out how to switch from constant current to energy saving and the 3 main light modes are simple enough. I guess having other LED Lenser models helps as the smart light settings are pretty similar. It feels stronger built and ajusts with a more reassuring click than the H7. The only niggle is that the cover for the USB charging port is fiddley and prone to comming off. It means that this light isn't going to be a lot of use in the rain. That isn't a problem for me as it's used for dog walking, not outdoor survival but I can see it being a nuisance for some. Torch direct service ok but one niggle. I asked for delivery to an agreed secure place if I'm not in but Royal Mail took it back to their sorting office. Not Torch directs fault but you may want to prompt your courier to read the instructions.

The torch itself seems fine, only had it a few days. The service from yourselves is brilliant. I emailed one question, which was answered straight away. I then ordered and it was delivered less than 48 hours later. GREAT SERVICE.

A quite superb product, you would do well to advertise it in the model railway and model aircraft press. The instructions were dreadful, a quick "get you started" guide would be nice.
