The Fenix TK75 2018 edition replaces the popular TK75 2015 edition, updating it from 4000 lumens to a searing 5100 lumens on turbo.
TThis compact searchlight is powered by four button top 18650 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. In an emergency situation it can use two 18650 batteries or four CR123A non-rechargeable batteries.
The battery holder that sits inside the TK75 2018 features a micro USB port and can charge the batteries using the included micro USB cable. Simply slide the holder out of the torch and insert the cable into the micro USB port and the other end of the cable goes into a computer or a compatible USB mains adaptor. A red LED will illuminate on the holder to show charging is in progress and will turn green once complete.
An external battery charger can also be used instead if you require more charging information such as battery status or voltage. A range of suitable four bay chargers can be found under the product accessories tab along with the TK75 extended run time kit that enables longer continuous run-times using eight 18650 batteries (however the battery holder with the extender kit cannot charge the batteries).
Utilising four Cree XHP35 HI LEDs the TK75 2018 can shine up to 850 metres distance, providing a long range spot accompanied by flood lighting for excellent coverage.
The Fenix TK75 2018 offers six brightness settings and two flash settings. The dual switch system allows for easy navigation of these modes, with the right master switch controlling general mode and output selection, while the left auxiliary switch controls flash mode output selection.
With the light off hold the master switch for 0.5 seconds to turn the light on and then each press cycles through the brightness outputs of eco, low, mid, high I, high II and turbo. With the light off hold the auxiliary switch for 0.5 seconds to enter the flash settings and each press will cycle between strobe and SOS. Strobe will always come on first, providing an instant strobe function and instant turbo can be accessed in any status by holding the master switch for 1.2 seconds. To change modes while the light is on, single press the opposite button to the mode the torch is in.
Also featured is last mode memory function in general mode to recall your previous brightness setting after switching the light off, a battery level indicator mode so you know when to charge/replace the batteries and a lock out function to prevent accidental activation that can be activated by holding both button simultaneously.
The included shoulder strap and wrist lanyard helps take the weight and makes carrying the torch easier and the TK75 2018 also has a standard tripod socket so that it can be mounted onto a tripod for hands free use.
All in all the Fenix TK75 2018 is a very versatile powerhouse of a torch offering incredible performance in a compact package suitable for search and rescue, security, caving and much more.
