Fenix BC26R Rechargeable LED Bike Light

The Fenix BC26R is a professional, rechargeable bicycle light for mountain and road cycling, and is the first bicycle light from Fenix to feature the 21700 sized battery. It is suitable for long distance and high intensity riding, and capable of a maximum output of 1600 lumens on the turbo mode.

Utilising a single Luminus SST40 LED it provides a choice of four white brightness levels as well as a flashing mode, and has a maximum beam range of up to 169 metres. A 100° wide angle beam gives extra coverage to illuminate the peripheral, which is great for turning corners, while the elevated dome design of the BC26R allows the light to come from either side of the light which helps to notify other rode users of your location that may be approaching from the left or right.

Turn the torch on by holding the button on top for 0.5 seconds and then each press cycles through the modes of low, mid, high and turbo. Hold the switch for 0.5 seconds again to turn the light off. Flash is activated with the light on by double pressing the button, and a single press will exit strobe. The last used setting except strobe will be remembered next time the light is turned on.

The high quality Fenix handlebar mount features adjustable rubber shims to fit a wide range of handlebars and offers a quick detach function. It also allows for 15° horizontal adjustment and will be vertically locked at any angle. With both thick and shims it will fit handlebars between 22-28 mm, with just the thin shim it fits 28-32 mm and with no shims is fits 32-35 mm.

Included is a Fenix 21700 5000 mAh lithium-ion battery which charges inside the bike light via the USB-C charging port for faster charging. with the torch off, remove the dust cover from the USB-C port, located on the front underside of the torch, and plug the included cable into the torch one end and the other end into a computer/laptop or a suitable USB mains/car adaptor.

The LED charging indicator in the button will go red to indicate charging is in progress and will turn green once charging is complete after approximately 4 hours when charging the included battery. Once charging is complete remember to insert the dust cover properly and check the tail cap is tight to ensure the IP68 rating is maintained.

Alternatively you can use an 18650 lithium-ion battery (not included), however the 18650 battery must be inserted in the ALF-18 battery holder (available separately) before inserting it into the torch and would require a separate battery charger to be recharged.

A built-in battery level indicator in the button displays the battery status for 3 seconds when the light is first turned on or when the button is pressed once while the light is off. It will show either a solid green, green flashing, solid red or red flashing light. A low battery voltage warning function is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level when the voltage drops below the preset level. Once it reaches low output the indicator will constantly blink red to remind you to charge your battery.

Intelligent overheat protection will automatically downshift the brightness slightly if the internal temperature reaches 60°C or above in turbo or high mode, and once the torch has cooled it will allow the user to reselect the higher outputs.

Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x Fenix ARB-L21-5000U 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
