Led Lenser X21 Review - facebook/allthingsphotography - Nick

Saw this online and thought of loads of practical, and fun uses. Bought it and had it delivered next day...excellent service! Took it out last night to experiment with a "painting with light" photography project. This thing set to "beam" lit up buildings on the other side of Weymouth harbour no problem...I pity the people in those buildings trying to watch TV. I then took it to a pitch black tennis court and park and when used on "spread" setting, it lit two tennis courts perfectly...you could easily play a game under the light of this amazing torch! Very happy!
I read all the reviews emptied my piggy bank and got one. It is absolutely awesome, I tested it out last night, and today my neighbour said "Did you see the lightning last night" It really is the mother of all torches. Expensive, but if you want the best, you get what you pay for. I will be getting another one for my son, who has a farm, that’s how good it is. Delivered as promised, excellent service, first time buyer, and will certainly be back.
This is a superb torch with a very long range and extremely bright light on max power. The name inscription service is nice touch, particularly with such a valuable item.
I ordered some T7s and an X21 from Torch Direct and both orders arrived promptly. So far no worries. The T7 is an excellent combination of compactness, lightness and brightness and is worth the price. I bought the X21 as I have a 4 acre property on the edge of a village and can use the intense illumination when looking for a dog that has wandered off or occassionally kids intruding. The intense beam and the size and haviness of the casing seems capable of being quite a deterrent if you encounter an intruder in your garden at night. It is of course expensive but in this case you get what you pay for.
All in all I've found my new X21 to be very good. It does what it says on the tin.....very poweful clean white light!! One thing that you can't do that lenser say you can, is to be able to focus the poweful beam of light with your thumb....well that's unless you have MASSIVE hands. In reality one as to use the other hand to either pull or push the the front ent of the torch in order to focus, as oppose to using a thumb. It's no trouble though to have to do this. I would recommend the Lenser X21 to anyone after a powerful torch even though it is expensive.
