More than adequate for walking on an unlit path at night, for instance. And battery life is frankly incredible too - I put in a fresh 950mAh NiMH battery, pointed the E05 at a wall, put my camera on time-lapse mode and went to bed. In the morning I checked: three hours of full brightness, plus a few minutes of dim illumination. Impressed! It is very well made and has a really useful light output and 'flood' type lens. Turns on and off by twisting head, which I found too stiff for one handed operation but that is a minor criticism (unless you only have one hand, of course). Torch Direct service was superb, I ordered on a Thursday and paid a few £ more for Saturday delivery. It actually came the next day (Friday) so Torch Direct refunded the extra postage with a nice email and without quibble! Fenix E05 R4Friday, 13 May 2011 - Eiden I bought this little torch to stow on my motorbike with a few other bits for a 'just in case' kit. It's perfect for the job - very compact but with a smooth flood beam, great for close up work and bright enough to illuminate further out should you need it.
