Small but bright

This lantern packs a punch beyond its size and expectation of 3AA batteries (not AAA as the specification suggests at one point). It can be hung either way up and the top unscrews to enable the lantern to be used as a torch or to create a pool of light. Has useful green flashing LED (claimed to flash for 2 years) to enable the lantern to be found in the dark. A good addition to my lightweight backpacking gear which uses the same batteries as my GPS, head torch etc as reduces the number of spares required to be carried.

We originally bought two of these lamps to use on a 9 month trip through Africa in our Land Rover. A really useful lamp that never let us down. Compact, tough and bright with excellent battery life. Stable for its size. Can also remove the cap and hang by the base to create a useful "pool" of light. African friends were so impressed they begged us to take some out for them on our next trip. That's why we're ordering some more - not because we've worn them out, ours are still going strong after 12 months (& counting) use in the bush!
